DARREN EMERSON You’d be hard pushed to find many long-standing figures in global dance music that are as passionate about what they do and who still do it for those much lauded ‘right reasons’ than Darren Emerson. He’s stamped his mark on dance culture for 20 years, thoroughly resists the trappings of celebdom (his partner is a well-known TV personality), and still seeks out those emerging clubbing beacons spread-out across the world with the zeal of a wide-eyed newbie. ‘Bogotá’ is the 3rd Global Underground mix from Darren, and he’s crowned his hat trick with a metaphorical 25 yard volley, a double cd journey into the modern dancefloor, with a couple of tricks thrown in to remind you that he remains at the pinnacle of his craft. Though he would probably dispel the ‘legend’ tag with a characteristically self-deprecating chuckle, the Essex-born DJ and producer, could rightly hold claim to such superlatives. One of the early UK protagonists at the arrival of acid house, he went on to soundtrack British house’s emergence as a worldwide force; before forming a band called Underworld, and changing dance music forever. it's been just about one year now since i haven't gone out dancing. and yea i miss it. some people may call me crazy but i love the main rooms at space and @ shine @ the shelbourne. i guess since oscar g is a legend in dance music and we are so blessed to have him here in miami. not to mention shine which is a smaller venue. but it's classy and lots of women. so i guess the whole wearhouse thing is not my cup of tea. but i do respect those parties. i also agree with you 100% as far as trancey, progressive, and breaks are more main-stream.....but techno is lil bit more underground to the peeps. i also agree that an ALL NIGHT LONG TECHNO PARTY is a bit too much. but i enjoy the mixing of the genres. i also enjoy a dj/producer who BUILDS HIS/HER SETS!!!! maybe one day (wmc2009) a lil bit of a techno hostile takeover is coming from OVERSEAS but, with a mixture of all other genres as well.

it was not a pointless bump nexus. i got your point loud and clear. i hear where you are coming from. you remind me of digital7...danny boy. cause he always seems to stay a step ahead of the times and music. trust me i love live acts as well. like "noze live" or "trentemoller live" or probably my favorite live act. "matthew dear" a.k.a. audion live".

i strongly agree. unfortunately and especially here in the states most if not all techno based parties turn out to be sausage fests. and that sux!!!!! and i also agree that not just techno reigns in my computer, i-pod, or vehicle. i also love minimal, acid, electro, tech-house, house, and yes even progressive.

my good man you fail to see the errors of your way. you see all the so called dj's on my list are PRODUCERS. i would be happy to list all of their tracks if you would like. and, furthermore atleast half of these guys perform live acts. but hey, thank you for responding to my thread!!!
