  1. Friday Night at Deko is 18 for ladies and I know of many who attend to partake in the underage drinking.
  2. DJ Tomcraft - Pulp Fiction Ezekiel Mix or Tomcraft Hat Spas Mix
  3. I said deko not abyss. Soundgarden makes its revenue from 21 and older crowd unlike deko where half of the bar ring comes from 18 year old girls who drink illegally since deko enforcement is non-existent. So I guess 18 year old girls dont really care about the music since they can drink.
  4. I'm not knocking anyone and I prefer the harder stuff to the ktu crap. If I go out to a club I would rather hear an original DJ playing there own style....But in todays market if you want to succeed as a dj you have to play commercial. If you DJ as a hobby and want to work at the clubs that come and go, then fine............But as a business aspect.....Clubs are in business to SELL DRINKS!....and whatever format sells drinks is what you play if you are in it for the long haul. You newbies talk about respect and you all hate the mainstream format but its not gonna pay the bills. If you want to impress anyone lets see you work 3 turntables on a urei or bozak mixer and use a dx-7 keyboard or spx-90 to sample with....if you even know what that is. All you cry ass babies need a certain mixer, and a specific headphone and loud booth monitors to mix. Did you ever mix vinyl with no headphones? no monitor? just feel the cue point in your fingers??? you newbies!!! stick to your day jobs. Its not all about mixing, its more about programming.............and if you can't comprehend that fact you will not survive in the club business. Buy all the vinyl you want and add to dave mondo's fortune.
  5. How long has Deko been around?? How long has Soundgarden been around?? Who will still be around in 2006??
  6. Eugene does not assume, he does what works from his years of experience. If you think an all house format will work in jersey and make a club profitable you are delusional. Girls want to hear usher ,kevin lyttle , etc and all the mtv crap in a club when they go out, so unless you want a roomfull of guys you have to play to the girls. House music is great, but as of now you cant make a profitable nightclub business playing only house.
  7. lenny bertoldo's nightmare on third street.........its the halloween theme song and way better than that crappy mondo music pumpkin bad pressing white label.
  8. hot tracks? wicked mix?? powerhouse ? give me a few days to look through vinyl..... i know i have it
  9. franco iemello, if you even know who that is........ played house of pain ,tribe called quest, notorious big, blacksheep, etc... at soundgarden for many years. So its not like hiphop was never played soundgarden. 23 years in the same location with the same owner and you are gonna doubt the music programming?? Personal preference is not an option in the nightclub industry and if you can't handle changes in the music format and grasp the concept of mass appeal then you are in the wrong business. If your method of thinking is "what dj is playing what?" instead of "what club has the hottest girls?" then you are truely delusional. and by the way, the owner of soundgarden created temptations. "feel the difference"
  10. I don't live in jersey, I dj to more people in one night than most of you do in a month, and I get direct service from most of the major labels. Nightclubs are in business to sell alcohol, not play independent label tracks that no one knows. Owners care about drink sales, not the medium that the dj plays. New tracks are great but don't base your night around it. Familiarity breeds content in a music aspect and the ladies want to hear the same crap they hear on mtv and the radio at the club. Maybe one day if you get out of djing the converted newark go go bars that are now lounges you will see the light. Stick up for the scene all you want but its not gonna pay the bills at the club.
  11. Who cares about tracks you can't get?? Its not 1998 anymore its 2004. People want mainstream especially the ladies, and without ladies a club is nothing. No one is going to come to a club because the dj has secret white label tracks......they are gonna go to a club where the hot ladies are and i bet that club is playing mainstream hip-hop/ktu format.
  12. kerry is for minoritys who stay home, dont work, abuse the system and collect welfare and have 8 kids by 4 different fathers.
  13. they dont even know what that is. Tape scratching....rocking the reels. what is an Oakenfold ?? Isn't that a type of sunglasses??
  14. Club owners hire djs to bring in a crowd and sell drinks. They couldnt give two shits if you played 8tracks as long as those first two factors were met. Most of you cryassing about the laptop djs are the ones who cant afford a good laptop. Also , by the way, the good djs who use cd's dont download their songs, they are in cd record pools or get direct service from the labels.
  15. They dont know what arbitrons are....or profit margin, shrinkage and per person revenue for that matter. They just know party of the week.
  16. shouldnt the democrats be on the hip-hop board? money for nothing and everything for free
  17. I think if you couldn't see the dj booth, most of you couldnt tell the difference between cds and vinyl. Also who cares if the dj spins vinyl or cds? I would rather drink and talk to chicks rather than worry about if the dj is playing vinyl or cds. I would rather listen to good music played by a cd dj than shitty music played by a vinyl dj. Vinyl is the last step of recording media so if you want the truely new stuff you gotta play digitally. Cd and computers are the evolution of the dj world ,just as why you dont play 45's anymore or 8 tracks . Plus you can't mix music videos on vinyl, which is the way the industry is turning. People who oppose cds are the ones who just spent $900 on turntables and spend their whole paycheck on vinyl. If you are a non-profit dj this is fine, but some of us want to make money. Carrying the records to the club is a big pain in the ass but the bigger problem is where you gonna put all those 12" records? I have 12 years of vinyl, prob about 10,000 records and they take up a whole bedroom, collect dust, and if i move them its a daylong process. 100 records is about 35 lbs. For those who say its easier to mix a cd than a record, i have to disagree. A properly calibrated quartz locked technics 1200 is far more responsive on the pitch contol than either the pioneer cdj-1000's(which lag horrendously) or the denon 2600(which dont lag, but break often). Using the beatmatching though on computer is lame I agree. I think littleboss has the right idea..........use both cds and vinyl. Most of the cd basher types are the same ones who cant find the cue control on my rane mp2016.
  18. Ok didnt know that was your signature, sorry about the mix up. I dont work at velvet so don't tell me you have more people than me. I have more people than you and velvet combined on friday night. Probably just for happy hour. When you get to 16 bartenders on a friday night let me know. And yes, The flyers suck. What are you using Printshop 95??
  19. How many amps produce 76,000 watts at flight? That would be around 21 crown macrotech 3600's. No way 76,000 watts. Michael Connachio or Mike Vendetti did most sound systems in new jersey and they are all very similair.
  20. Good luck dave I'm sure you will do well. And Vip-tech, why post shitty flyers on daves thread? I hope you didnt make them because they suck dick. Who cares if unescorted hookers get free dinner?? What is that place a soup kitchen giving out free meals?? Who would go to a nightclub to hang out with ladies wanting free meals????
  21. I have the vinyl somewhere. Whats the year on that?? 1999? that would help me.
  22. you mean "sume sigh say"
  23. Its called make up for a rainy summer price gouge.
