  1. Initially on first meetings, I'd say men... I know that I have on a few occasions lied or inflated my personal ego to obtain what I want. All in all, I'd say we probably level out in the long run, though
  2. Check this out... some wise asses get loud and feel they should be the one's on stage in the middle of a 3 party interview... Mr. Maher has to step out and regulate.... Attitude adjustment

  5. Pressure on Larry Craig continues to mount as the national Republican Party apparatus builds an intense behind-the-scenes effort to suggest and perhaps order a resignation from the embattled Idaho senator. I'd like to start a poll, three choices and 3 choice only, please. Does anyone care whether this person is actually guilty of suspected charges? Comments are always welcome though:)
  6. JOTD and I hope that it doesn't offend too many... but I just couldn't resist: "OJ killed a white woman, He WALKED Kobe raped a white girl, He WALKED Vick Killed some damn dogs, He's going to JAIL. Lesson of the day: Stick to killin white bitches"
  7. I'm just trying to imagine anything in NOHO being classified as A list
  8. "SEATTLE — A man who tried to position himself as a leader of the anti-war movement by claiming to have participated in war crimes while serving in Iraq is facing federal charges of falsifying his record. Jesse Adam Macbeth, 23, formerly of Phoenix, garnered attention on blogs and in some alternative media after he began claiming in 2005 to have been awarded a Purple Heart for his service, which he said included slaughtering innocents in a Fallujah mosque. His story was contradicted by his discharge form, showing that he was kicked out of the Army after six weeks at Fort Benning, Ga., in 2003 because of his “entry level performance and conduct.†A complaint unsealed Friday in U.S. District Court in Seattle charged him with one count of using or possessing a forged or altered military discharge certificate, and one count of making false statements in seeking benefits from the Veterans Administration. Macbeth’s public defender, Jay Stansell, declined to comment. Organizations that opposed the war, including Iraq Veterans Against the War, posted videos or statements containing Macbeth’s claims on their Web sites. In one videotaped interview, a skinny, stuttering Macbeth, dressed in a camouflage jacket, described slaughtering hundreds of people in a mosque: “We would burn their bodies ... hang their bodies from the rafters in the mosque,†he said. Iraq Veterans Against the War and other organizations removed the claims after learning they were false. “He approached us in early 2006, posing as a war veteran. He seemed very emotionally distressed about his experiences,†said Amadee Braxton, a spokeswoman for Iraq Veterans Against the War, based in Philadelphia. Macbeth claimed in an application for benefits to have served from May 2001 to June 2004, to have been shot in Iraq and to have suffered post-traumatic stress disorder, LaMont E. Stokes, an agent with the VA’s Office of the Inspector General, wrote in the charging papers. He also collected more than $10,400 in benefits to which he was not entitled, Stokes wrote. Stokes said he interviewed Macbeth in a Tacoma jail, where he has been serving a sentence for fourth-degree assault, and that Macbeth admitted falsifying the documents because he was homeless and wanted to “sucker†anything he could out of the government". Incredible the lengths people would go through to get a few extra bucks!
  9. Damn, his own peeps are even turning on him now... supposedly he (Vick) euthanized some of these dogs as well.
  10. Going to relocate there for a bit... looking for reputable real estate agents and good areas with little drama.
  11. Congratulations on the dual citizenship. I consider myself fortunate to have met many that have multiple citizenships and have talked in great depth about loyalty. The one item of importance can be summed up by a film Entitled, "Elizabeth". There is a scene where the Queen is trying to persuade the clergy to consolidate the religion of England into one book, one custom and one courtesy. The Queen states, " I simply ask, can any man, in truth, serve two masters and be faithful to both"? A great pondering question of immense proportions. As far as not intentionally offending troops, I wouldn't say that you are completely. Some troops out there would advocate what you are saying. As with every issue there are two sides. I happen to believe that there are more peace loving people in the military than "war mongers". Once again, this is based on personal experience as my chosen profession. The issue that all military members would have with your statement referring to sending the "administration" into battle is that it doesn't make sense. When engaged in ground combat, one must have superior numbers. Otherwise, the US would just send "Mike", or "Jim" to do the job. Your issues with Congress have strong position, all of which are excellent talking points and can be argued in depth. However, there is a order of merit on all issues. The ones that you have addressed, are in some capacity I would presume, on that list... are they as important as the security of this nation... I would argue not. However, that does lead me back to the original posting of this thread. What you state makes complete sense; we should keep addressing these issues and countless others; however, be mindful, citizens once called upon political leaders to shift "power to the people" in acknowledgement of the peoples attitude towards the last house of congress. Did we just have an election? My question now would be, if this congress (110th) was elected to stop a war, do something about immigration reform, healthcare reform, repairs with diplomatic negotiation (Pelosi's meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad, although not European) and countless other issues that we felt needed to be changed. Would you believe that the majority of the American voting public who voted these congress person's in office really didn't do their homework before hitting the poles. Or would you state the voters were simply voting for the sake of a party name?
  12. Good snippets for a film like "National Treasure" or "Da Vinci Code". Run this by "Holly-wierd", someone will nibble at it! However, on the other side of the coin , this would as well: June 18, 2007 Mark A. Wright lighted the grill behind his house Wednesday evening and went back inside for tongs, seemingly with no reason to think about his neighbor or anything else besides feeding his family. But the neighbor, authorities say, was doing plenty of thinking about Wright. The bizarre results led Wright, 47, a family man with no criminal record, to become Milwaukee's 45th homicide victim of 2007. According to court records, Rene Stermole decided some time ago that Wright was not only a terrorist in touch with Libyan despot Moammar Gadhafi, but also was tied in with Mafia members, biker gangs, El Rukn street gangsters from Chicago and various other figures out to do him harm. Stermole had worried for many years that his shadowy enemies would come after him and guarded himself accordingly: They threatened to attack his wife, so he never married, and they used Wright to stalk him, so he got a digital camera to document it, he told police. Wednesday evening, Stermole was carrying the .40-caliber Glock pistol he got to protect himself - and his disabled mother whom he lived with - when he saw Wright coming outside. Wright was headed for the grill in his garage, by the alleyway. Stermole told police he saw Wright coming to kill him. He pulled the pistol out of his homemade holster, fired and hit Wright eight times, court records say. Wright's wife and daughter raced out of the house. His wife, Elaine Wright, told police she yelled at Stermole while he calmly walked back home. "Rene, you done lost your mind," Elaine Wright said, according to her account in the criminal complaint. Stermole didn't turn around, she said. Stermole, 56, who, like the Wrights, lives in the 4000 block of N. Montreal St., told police Wright had "stalked him throughout the years" and had said he could kill Stermole "anytime he wanted to," the complaint says. Stermole had taken Wright's picture that afternoon - part of the "videos, notes and photographs" Stermole used to keep track of the neighbor he said was part of an international conspiracy - and believed Wright was angry and ready to kill him, the complaint says. Stermole's statement to police echoes a series of online essays posted to conspiracy-theory Web sites by a "Sonny Rene Stermole" over the past decade alleging a vast, Freemasonry-affiliated conspiracy in which Chicago gang members came after him.. Prosecutors have not alleged any link between Wright's death and the theories laid out on the Internet, which include references to both Gadhafi and Chicago's El Rukn gang. The Milwaukee County district attorney's office charged Stermole with first-degree intentional homicide and asked that bail be set at $1 million. But at an initial court appearance Saturday, Court Commissioner Grace Flynn set Stermole's bail at $100,000 - $14,200 less than the assessed value of Stermole's home, which is listed in his mother's name. Stermole faces life in prison if convicted as charged. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 25. Source: jsonline.com BTW, your video links are inoperable.
  13. Welcome to your first post! I would have suggested placing this topic in the drama forum. However, here goes the other side of the coin: In rarer cases, the Illuminati refers to a purported elite set of enlightened individuals who may not cooperate but are uniquely empowered by their enlightenment, much like the intelligentsia are empowered by their education and intelligence. These are people who have become illuminated and have achieved a higher mystical understanding of the universe. Many secret societies and mystical traditions are concerned with this kind of illumination or enlightenment, such as the Rosicrucian Societies, the Martinists and the original Bavarian Illuminati. 14. You are absolutely correct. I too believe that pulling out won't change the fact that we are basically the most untolerable of nations among the globe. How I get this data is by placing personal experience on where I have lived. From Asia to Europe, I have heard the term "Ugly American's", repeatedly. The reason is simple... you either have people that like you or dislike you". Now magnify that sentence on a National level. Since helping other Nation's isn't one of our top priorities, what would you consider would be? Helping our own? Not helping our own? Which of these important issues should we address first? As far as a gimmick/ marketing ploy. The fact remains that since 2001 there have been 0 terror related incidents within the continental US (meaning attacks that have actually occured). This I pay honor to our citizens, allies and yes... our so-called "high school dropout" TSA employees (See TSA employment hiring standards Section 108.31 a1). Whether is makes a person "feel" good/safe is irrelevant regarding security. The only thing that matters is have we been attacked on our home soil? As far as Europeans pulling out and realizing the err in their ways, I suggest taking a look at recent events in Spain who pulled out in 2004. Or how about the Nederlands who pulled out in 2005. Now lets try the Asian theater, how about the Phillipines? You would be absolutely correct once again in the notion of fool us twice. Europe has been fighting terror for well over 600 years. See the Irish Republican Army/ Provos for more details. How long have we been at it? 7-8 years. I think we still have alot to learn, and our citizens, allies and civil servants deserve more credit than what you afford them.
  15. Congress does have certain powers, but the powers must be followed to the letter. They are governed by the same laws that govern our land. There are numerous options on the table. I don't know them all, and don't want to. I do believe that all congress persons would like to see our troops out eventually, some more than others. However, is it the right thing to do with all that is still going on? The media will show you current war pictures like this or even this one to get your attention. However, rarely; and I do mean rarely will you get a soldier's point of view that gives you the other side of the story. Pictures like this one or even this one for size. (This next piece isn't for the faint of heart.)A car salesman, afterall shows you pictures of people having fun or even having a nice drive in the country side. Would you buy a car from a salesman who shown you this or how about this nice model? WW2 lasted 6 years. And depending upon which conflict we're talking about, Iraq/ Afghanistan, I presume. We have been there just about the same amount of time. The comparison of WW2 and the current situation in the middle east is one of vast comparison and similarity. One was a battle dealing with a uniformed armed opponent. The opponent of today is not easily identifiable, They come in different sizes, educational backgrounds, shapes, genders. One must ask oneself, "What does our current enemy look like? Is s/he easily identifiable? Can we pick these individuals easily out of a crowd"? Since we are one nation under God. Are we as willing to go as far for our God, as the opponent is for their's. Food for thought.
  16. I'd give it a go that "Yellow alert" has been the overall positive aspect as to the continental US not being struck again. Should we drop our guard, I truly would anticipate that, like a boxer in a ring, would eventually take a hard hit to the jaw. I don't think anyone in this country would like to see events like that unfold ever again. With an elevated status, i.e. Airport security, bomb dogs etc... this has definitely been a show of force to let the "would-be" attackers know that we are looking out for them. I, too, agree that money should have been spent before hand on homeland security. Increasing security towards civilians has been extremely difficult abroad, but to do so at home requires more finesse. However, the question lies with how much freedoms and money are people of the US truly willing to sacrifice in order to protect it's people and assets. An increase in taxation for spending? More police/ fire/ soldiers? How about obtaining more people to volunteer for service for that protection i.e.. Soldiers/ Sailors/ Airmen/ Marines? Not being partisan towards the right or left, I truly believe that no other President has seen such division in a country since Abraham Lincoln was able to watch the Union V. Confederates from his front lawn at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Whether the facts the administration gave were intentionally given to mislead, or not; the facts since day one are that guerrillas have battled US troops, different tribes in the land, and they're allies, in Iraq since the start of the war. These individuals were not planted there by our administration. The country of Iraq has 3 uniquely identifiable tribes all fighting for a piece of the Iraqi pie that the Bathist Party was not willing to give them. The Kurds, The Sunni and the Shia. There was a lot of repression and it takes time to build a country. As far as pulling out troops, believe me Jim. Nobody, and I mean nobody, prays harder for peace than the soldier that has to fight. To take away their funding would be disasterous beyond belief. To place it on a local level. Imagine if your state representatives decided one day that the police in your state could no longer receive funding for the jobs that they have chose to do. To serve and Protect. Imagine your local police had no more funding for Jails, Patrols, Security, Food, Pay for these protectors, medical care, shelter, even buildings that provided a home base out of for towns people to go to to report crimes. Imagine a robbery or rape that the police would not be able to respond to because the state legislature pulled the funding. That state would run rampant. Now imagine doing that to a group of individuals that are doing that in a land far away. The damage would be exponentially irreversible.
  17. Both very good responses... allow me to clarify... suppose that congress does have a way to stop "the war" and we bring our troops back to the US and home stations (I am assuming that this is what we are discussing as the overall point). With the US out of the middle east, do you believe it possible that attacks against the US, it's people and assets will stop because congress put and end to our presence there?
  18. Interesting, here's a question, can congress end a war?
  19. Very positive:clap2: I as well haven't gone out hunting mostly due to the fact that I am married and have no desire to be with anyone else. But I do love the music and the scene. I don't really dance that much, but I do spin. The most amazing thing I saw regarding this was when I live in Los Angeles and use to frequent Circus... There was a dj by the name of "swedish egil" who must have been late 50's or 60's. But used to mix up some mean choonage! My buds and I used to talk with him all the time and think that it is admirable that even at that age, he still knew how to have a good time music wise.
  20. Nah! Just find a good reliable baby sitter when you and the spouse want to hit the town.
  21. Unfortunately I wasn't there that weekend. Hope you had a splendid time.
  22. That was in my past and had no relevance to the issue at hand.
