  1. This is some tragic shit! What drives a person to do some horrific crap like this is unthinkable.
  2. Well said, Dub, that's why I always tune into the "wisdom of the day"!
  3. Found this little bit on CNN. Interesting how a bit of penalty box action somehow illicits a rekindling of fires for some celebs. Thanks for the kind thoughts Jim. Always a pleasure to have some conversation that opens minds. Keep well.
  4. She managed to finish her time uneventfully. Well done!
  5. War is a broad sword... what you are speaking of is a fine surgical incision.
  6. No offense taken... however, as the saying goes... it's easy to have all the answers when the ultimate responsibility doesn't rely with you.
  7. I've had this conversation time and time again. As a poll I'd like to see what you personally think is truly too old to be hitting the clubs. Not necessarily to pick up on people, but just to hang out, listen to good music and have a good time.
  8. I too agree that celebs get away with way too much... recent examples that we have range from sports figures to drunk movie makers/ film stars. I also am in a profession that has a high degree of standards. Do people fall off the standards wagon in all professions? Oh hell yea! I have known quite a few just in mine alone. Does that excuse them, no, it doesn't. However, now the bar has been set! Let's see what happens when the next celeb/ sports figure or anyone else in the lime light breaks the law. I'd be interested to see how it is handled.
  9. June 21, 2007 Americans' Confidence in Congress at All-Time Low Confidence in most institutions drops by Frank Newport GALLUP NEWS SERVICE PRINCETON, NJ -- The percentage of Americans with a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in Congress is at 14%, the lowest in Gallup's history of this measure -- and the lowest of any of the 16 institutions tested in this year's Confidence in Institutions survey. It is also one of the lowest confidence ratings for any institution tested over the last three decades. Gallup's annual update on Americans' confidence in institutions shows that confidence ratings are generally down across the board compared with last year. The public's confidence ratings in several institutions, including Congress, are now at all-time low points in Gallup's history of this measure. These low ratings reflect the generally sour mood of the public at this time. Of the 16 societal institutions tested in Gallup's 2007 update, Americans express the most confidence in the military. They have the least confidence in HMOs and Congress. Americans have much more confidence in "small" business than in "big" business. Basic Data Gallup's annual update of the public's confidence in institutions -- conducted June 11-14, 2007 -- shows that all but 2 of the 16 institutions included in this year's survey have at least slightly lower confidence ratings than last year (although most of these changes are not statistically significant). The largest drops in confidence between 2006 and 2007 are eight percentage points for banks, the presidency, television news, and newspapers. There has been no change in the ratings of big business and HMOs. More information @ http://galluppoll.com/content/?ci=27946
  10. For a person make a cheap porn available on the internet. This would not be something unusual.
  11. The story on Paris Hilton
  12. Subjectively, I too believe that everyone would like to be beautiful and rich... or at least somewhat pleasant to look at and financially comfortable. As far as having no responsibilities, just because she might have the other two doesn't automatically give her free reign to not have any part of the third. Responsiblity doesn't pertain to those that are less fortunate alone. In fact, history has shown that the more influential a person is, the more they feel that it is their duty to act in accordance with an even more elevated set of values and responsibilities. James P. Morgan and John Rockefeller are some excellent examples. Now whether you agree these people were attractive or not is on you, but responsibility is equal to all, that is where the judge comes in and we all know how that ruling went. If being a "moron" were a crime... Ms. Hilton would be remanded for much longer in the Iron Bar Hilton than present sentencing has been issued.
  13. Actually, haven't been. Sorry lalate. I can tell you that they closed Liquid Blue due to the fact that the club staff was "fighting".... yes.... "fighting" with clubgoers. This as well as a gang of citations for serving to minors. All in all, Judgment= 2 months in the penalty box. i.e. No doors open at all. I should be able to hit it up now!
  14. I'm hearing she found religion whilst inside.
  15. I got something.... Anaheim.... Anaheim.... WTF? Great to have Ottawa show up with their "A" game every night!
  16. Try PachaNYC on weekends. Great atmosphere and music. Also, hit up the times square vinyl music section of Virgin Records. The guys there have a good pulse on what's going on in the city.
  17. Woman in UK 'groomed' as bomber Bombings: UK extremists expected 2005 attack, says woman The former wife of a British Islamist extremist has said her husband suggested she carry out a suicide bombing against the UK. Speaking exclusively to the BBC's Newsnight programme, the woman said her husband showed how she should strap an explosive belt around her body. She told the BBC that three weeks before the 2005 London bombings she was warned "something big" would happen. The woman said her husband was a threat to the UK and completely "brainwashed". Watch the interview in full on Newsnight, BBC2, 2230 BST The BBC is not identifying the South Asian woman for security reasons. However, her husband is known to have fallen in with UK extremists sympathetic to the aims of Osama bin Laden. In the interview, the woman told Newsnight's Richard Watson how her husband and fellow extremists would talk about what they believed to be their duty to follow a course of "jihad" - in this context referring to attacks against the perceived enemies of Muslims. "He used to say we should all do jihad because he used to give an example of a woman who was a suicide bomber in India, who killed herself," she said in the interview. "My husband told me I should join him to participate in jihad as well." The woman told the programme her husband attempted to give her instructions in how to turn herself into a suicide bomber by concealing explosives under baggy, traditional, Islamic clothes. "He would tell me how to use a [bomb] belt around the waist," she said. "Whenever he would discuss these matters I just would ignore him and go to the kitchen." 'Walk away' The woman said: "I told him I'm not interested at all. He was very clever. He told me how the girls tied the suicide belt around their waist and [wore] the hijab over the top. He doesn't care if British people die. He was so brainwashed by the radicals, he could do anything Former wife of extremist, speaking to Newsnight's Richard Watson "I would go to the kitchen or visit my friend. I told him that I don't want to listen to these sorts of things. Why should one spoil her or his life to kill innocent people? I would walk away." In the interview, the woman claimed that three weeks before the 7 July 2005 London bombings her husband and his jihadi associates were warning about an attack. "He said that something would happen and he would flee but I would be trapped. I told him I'm not going anywhere, I will stay. "He said all his other colleagues are sending their wives away so I should leave as well." Asked what kind of threat her former husband posed, she said: "He doesn't care if British people die. He was so brainwashed by the radicals, he could do anything." Newsnight is broadcast from 2230 weekdays on BBC2. Alternatively watch the latest programme online via the website - see internet links.
