  1. Drais is overrated - its only good b/c everyone knows the name but I don't see what is so special about that place (aside from some of the women in there) The music sucks most of the time - typical Vegas shit. Its nice to go to when your on vacation for a night, but to do it all weekend or on a regular basis sucks. Seven is another place that used to be pretty good, but now Saturday late night is the only time I would reccomend checking it out. Not much else going on these days except on the holiday weekends.

For Memorial Weekend, Voodoo lounge is doing afterhours Fri/Sat/Sun night w/ big Dj's - Ivano Bellini and Max Grahm (I think) are the people they have booked though they haven't been officially announced yet. SRO is also doing NYC on the Move afterhours all of next weekend. ICE is also doing afterhours next Friday w/ Jonathan Peters.

If you are coming on a regular weekend though - Drais and Seven are your only options

  2. What they are doing for this party is selling a LIMITED amount of tickets before which usually sell out quick and then everyone else has to go wait in line. This party is so much smaller than the one @ the Arenas and I was shocked that they are selling these in advance - they just went on sale yesterday @ some of the local places around here.

I just bought 8 and it is definitely a good idea to get some. If you don't have them, you aren't gauranteed to get in and will have to wait in line for 2-3 hours in the general admission line and get there before 9.

  3. Well the flyer says 2am and JP usually doesn't spin marathon sets out here...I'd hate to get there @ 5 and have it only go to 7 or 8. I have the May schedule from ICE - they were all over the club this weekend. It says Jonathan Peters - Friday late night.

I would play it safe and get there earlier than 5 but that is just me. I am going to call the club next week and see what the deal is to make sure. Either way I gaurantee this is the best party of the weekend.

  4. maybe its the second coming of bigdawg/calvin...........

sorry to tell you'll, but he really isnt a narc.......sorta disappointed, wish there was more drama

What ever happened to him... I guess he fucked too many people over and tried something else. Hopefully someone busted his fucking face in. Its amazing how easy it was to get some info about him..I did some research and talked to a few people who were willing to w/out asking too many questions - so tell him I said hello and will be paying him in visit when I head out to visit my cousins at the end of the summer

    :gang:

  5. you been to crobar lately? its packed every week. They dont need any talent, as long as theyre making $..

Was back in town for the first time since January and was there this past Saturday. It was the same as it always is. Got there around 2 and it was hardly packed except for the VIP room. I'm sure they are making $$ which is what it is all about, and I'm happy for them. Its just too bad they aren't commited to bringing in good music like the Miami and NY Crobars do. I've been to all three and this is by far the worst out of the bunch.

  6. Jonathan Peters @ ICE on Friday night for afterhours will be the best party this weekend - hands down. Especially w/ all the NYer's in town - I just wonder how long they will stay open for this event.

If you know what you are doing each night, its probably best to buy presale tickets or VIP packages. They are the same price as what the door would be plus you don't have to wait in line

  7. Utopia is no longer open - they closed down last spring so that is definietly out of the question. I would stay away from OPM too - I was extremely dispointed when I went there a few weeks back - too gheto and too much hip-hop. They even used a metal detector and patted down all the guys before you go in.

    My suggestions would be

Rain, Tabu, or Risque on Thursday night

Tabu or Ra on Friday night

    ICE on Saturday night

Aside from Rain on Thurday, those are the best choices for good music right now - almost everything else is hip-hop.

  8. TABU is an ultra lounge out here - not too big but probably plays some of the best music in town - the DJ has to be from NY. Its a great place to start off the night @ and get a bottle.

RA does play house music on Friday - check their webiste for their schedule and guest DJ's

    www.ralv.com

  9. Sounds like you got a good schedule there - I wouldn't do Rain 2 nights in a row though. Its the same shit every night - plus the line on Friday/Sat is Rediculous!!

If I were you I would either do TABU or RA on Friday - both have the type of music you are looking for - all progressive and TRIBAL house!!!

  10. I had to jump over the fucking wall and my girlfriend snuck back in through a hole in the fence b/c they wouldn't let us back in after we paid and got stamps to leave. 2 hours trying to get back in - and when we finally did it got shut down an hour later. Still the best party of the conference in my opinion

  11. Yep - Junior is spinning @ ICE on the Sunday night of Memorial Day Weekend. Really disapointed they didn't book Jonathan Peters that night - I've heard junior spin before in Cancun and he was pretty good so this may be another party to keep in mind if the Club Rubber Party @ the Palms doesn't have anyone descent

Here is the link for the tickets

  12. Yep - all trance. Unfortunatly that is the best party announced out here so far. I'm also pretty disapointed w/ the promoters b/c I don't think we'll get JP this year - he's already booked for the hamptons on Sunday night - unless they book him for Friday night somewhere. And the DJ's for the Pimp and Ho on Sat are garbage too

  13. It is called FLAUNT now b/c they are having fashion models run across the stage w/ differnt brands of clothing sponsering each week. I went when Skribble was there for the Von Dutch show a few weeks back. Only a few Wednesdays of the month though. Last week they were playing house but around 3:00 the hip-hop DJ's came on and played for the remainder of the night. Duane King was throwing down some good beats before that!!
