I bought a VIP package from Vegas.com for Ice and it was well worth it b/c it was their halloween porn party w/ a big DJ. I paid $135 for 2 admissions, access to VIP for the night, and $100 in bar tab. On a regular night I'm not sure if it would be worth it unless you went with a bigger package for 6 people. I've heard 10 pm - 5 am and also heard its a day party. The updated listed for week 3 http://www.wmcon.com/thelist/index.htm#9 still has it listed for 11am - 11pm and there is nothing on their website. Anyone know??

I know the music will be insane, but will it be worth $40 - $60 listed for admission b/c I heard NV is tiny

Music out here aint nearly as good as what you have back in NY but there are a few places I would reccomend - BTW I have a few of your mixes you sent out so we have very similar taste in beats There usually aint much to do on Sunday except a few hip hop clubs - BUT this is a holiday weekend so there will be some stuff going on Best bet is to check out http://www.vegas.com/nightclubs/events.html anytime after Friday and there will be an updated list On Monday, Definitely check out the Foundation Room on top of Mandalay Bay - very nice setup on the top of the hotel w/ a hip hop and house room - balcony outside overlooks the whole strip - pretty much the only thing going on Monday. The house of blues on the lower level of Mandalay just started throwing afterhours this past Monday starting @ 4 - you will see flyers for it I'm sure - only option for afterhours on a Monday Tuesday def check out Studio 54 in the MGM after 1 am - service industry night and they strictly play house and good dance shit in the later hours - supposed to have an underground feel Ra @ the Luxor used to have all international and top name DJ's on Wednesday but for some reason stopped it - they still have Duane King spinning house all night which is usually good Thursday night Sandra Collins is at the Spundae party in Risque @ the Parris Hotel which is run by Clique (some people who help w/ NYC on the move parties when they are out here)...turnout was pretty weak 2 weeks ago when I went for Creamer and K but still bangin music Friday night definitely check out TABU...best ultra lounge in Vegas - kind of small but whoever spins plays pretty much all NYC music - I go there pretty often on Fridays and am never disapointed Even though the music sucks at Drais (cheesy trance and breaks usually - def not NY style) I would go there b/c you find a great looking crowd and it stays consistantly busy until 8 am....Seven across from the Aladin is good on Sat. for afterhours but I went this past Friday and it was DEAD - if you do drais on Fri save Seven for sat - I think its better than Drais when its busy On sat - you have to check out ICE. Usually they have big name DJ's but I think this week they just have their regular resident (he still spins good house). It is the best club out here - the main room is big and is all house on Sat and they usually blast those frost cannons that cover the whole club w/ freezing cold smoke - Don't go on Friday b/c it all hip hop. I was there for JP on halloween w/ a bunch of NYer's and we had a blast. For afterhours check out Seven or OPM in the ceasars forums shops - both go until 7 or 8. Glo @ Ibiza is good on Holiday weekends but is dead on regular nights. CoolVegas - that site was the shit!! I am almost positive that Utopia is closed. NYC on the move had a party there Memorial Day Weekend - a one night only thing and you could tell it was closed for a while. They had hardly any good liquor stocked and everything was very disorganized. One of the promotors I talked to was trying to get something similar going for Labor Day weekend put he said they weren't going to be open at all. Hopefully the Thursday Spundae Party @ Risque will turn into the next big thing in this town. Really looking forward to seeing some of the talent they are bringing in

I'm just using him as an example. In general I'd just like to see some new faces in there b/c its the same old shit every week. It is still new to some people but once that wears off I hope they move in a better direction - This place is supposed to be know for big name DJ's and its been disapointing so far. BTW - no offense at all to the thread starter - I know you have absolutely no control over the issue

I'm still waiting to see you guys bring in some new talent. The place has been for 3 months now and the best you can do is Cedric Cervais, Peter Tong, Scumfrog, and Felix da Housecat on rotation? How about some other DJ's for a change - like Morillo, Picotto, PVD, Sasha & Digweed or even Calderone (NYC's resident) here - everyone but Tong has been here at least 5 times in the last year. There are so many big name DJ's that don't seem to make it across the midwest and you should make it a point to start pulling some of these people in like the other 2 locations. And here's an idea - start annoucing DJ's on your site more than 1 week in advance so people can actually get excited about these parties (if you ever decide to bring in some bigger names than the people we've gotten used to) The Spundae party @ Vision party blows this out of the fucking water - I've just about given up on Fridays @ Crobar and I'm sure alot of other people will too unless you start bringing in some new faces behind the tables.

If anyone wants to check out some NASTY tribal and progressive house, make sure you check out Osgar G opening night. He's the resident DJ @ Space in Miami. Just got his new live double disc and it hasn't left my CD player in 2 weeks. I don't think Vegas ever has many DJ's like this - I wish I was moving a week sooner. Overall Risque is a pretty cool place. I had a good time the last time I was there - music was the only thing holding the party back. I really hope they promote this party and it has a great turnout

I won't get there until around 7-8pm - What time does it go to? My flight doesn't get in until late afternoon and by the time I get situated at the Roney I may miss a good portion of it. Is it worth going or should I just hold off for some of the other parties that night...I'm sure Sat will have a ton of good shit going on

I know there has to be some smaller unknown places that host good music in a city this big. I just wish it was more widespread and know to the public. I don't go out 3 times a week and its tough convincing people to try new places you've never been to or heard of. Bottom line - I wish we had better music in the larger clubs and lounges PERIOD

Actually the local/resident DJ's pretty much what I hate about this place. Most of the places I've been in NY, the vibe is unreal. Everyone seems so into the music - dancing like crazy in circles , feeding off off each other's energy. If you've see it you'd know what I'm talking about - its very unique. I've only experienced it a few times in Chicago (when there was a TOP Dj in at Crobar or the Spundae party). There is definitely something lacking in the music out here. I've seen it Vegas and Cancun too w/ a NY DJ spinning where well over 50% of the party is from the east coast. Friends that I've traveled with to this day say they've never seen anything like it. Like I said before, everyone has different tastes. I personally don't like the hard house/trance and euro they play in Chicago. I just can't get into it. I'm a really big fan of good progressive house and tribal beats w/ vocals layered on top - and unfortunatly you won't find much of that out here.

I booked my trip from the 6 - 11th and I already feel like I'm missing too much not going on Friday. Would I have been better off going from the 5th to 10th or does it not really matter? I'm thinking there will be better parties on that Friday compared to the Wednesday at the end of the conference

I've lived here in Chicago my whole life. You can't tell me (coming from NY) that the local music here and Chicago style of dance music is better than what's out there. It's Euro, Trance, and Hard House at about 90 - 95% of the lounges and clubs that play dance shit out here. There are a few clubs that bring in good talent (Zentra, Vision, Crobar and Transit, Smartbar - maybe 1 or 2 other) every so oftern - but its nothing to brag about on a consistant basis. And we still haven't even gotten into the topic of afterhours. I guess everyone has different tastes. I've gotten sick of Chicago probably like you got sick of NY. PS. Explain How DT and JP are Mainstream

Wow - thats great Diesel - half of those names I could give a shit about and the other half (that is good) is in NY probably 5-6 times for every 1 time they hit Chicago. RAS's post is 100% on point - look at all the quality resident DJ's and clubs that are out there...Not to mention AFTERHOURS!!!!! I used to think Chicago was a great place to party until I ventured out east - the music and vibe are sooooo much better. Every time I've brought people to party with me out east they have been blown away by the music and energy in some of the clubs. The music out here is so far behind it's not funny and you have to really look for descent music - out there its everywhere you go (Good tribal beats and house is played almost everywhere in NY - it takes a major DJ to come here before we hear that shit)

Yeah - your right....Not too many great DJ's are brought in compared to other big cities...look at NY, Miami, LA.....you'd think we get the same quality and quantiy of talent but it doesn't happen. I would love to have the all the options NYC has - nightlife blows Chicago out of the water

Every other major city has a handfull of good DJ's in town for NYE? Anyone descent (I'm not talking Chicago DJ's) playing out here besides Mauro Picotto at the Congress Hotel (which is 18+)? You'd think think this city would find some descent talent to come in for such a big night - major disapointment
