  1. OK so I ended up going to JP @ ICE and was very disappointed with the crowd. It made last year at 54 look way better. As far as the music goes..I think he killed it. bomb after bomb for the first 3 hours I was there. It was the best I heard him spin in a while. Its a shame there wasnt a big crowd. It could have been a great night. I think the ICE crowd in general sucks period. I had a better time with about 30 people on sunday, than when it was packed with crackheads on friday night. I'll probably never go to ICE again.

Definitly agree - for the 4 hours we were there he was really dropping some sick shit. I was ready to walk out within the first 15 minutes I was there b/c of the lack of vibe/crowd - and I kept saying as soon as his set goes downhill we're out. I figured it was just a matter of time with the amount of people there - but he didn't let up the whole time we were there. Without a doubt the best music I heard all weekend - a little better than Boris - WAY better than Tiesto @ rehab (set was a joke - way too much hype for not even 2 hours from that idoit). Just too bad no one was there to apprecaite it.

  2. I'm definintly one who wasn't thinking straight - I expected at least a decent crowd at ICE - plus I was at Jet Friday night and my group didn't want to go there again.

Jp @ ICE was a huge disapointment except for the music. I give the guy credit though - he was banging it out for the very few that were there.

Really wish we would have went to Deep Dish - so many people I talked too from Rehab were going - I thought it was going to be way too crowded - I had enough of that @ the HR sunday day time.

Vegasguy - was it as packed as we both said it would be last week? Was there room to at least dance or move around a bit?

  3. I'm a pretty big JP fan - but that party last year for Memorial Day was bad. Music was so inconsitant that night and there was nobody there. Probably the worst set I have heard from the man

When he spun out here at the Pimp & Ho it was a totally different story. From what I hear he has been on fire in NY as of late back @ Pacha (old Factory) - and his sets in Miami (Nikki Beach & Nocturnal) were awesome.

I'd say check out Deep Dish early and then head to JP since its supposedly open until 10 am for afterhours - thats what I'm doing. I'm guessing even if the music is great @ Jet - its going to be impossible to enjoy unless you have a table. That room is hard enough to move as it is on a regular night - add Deep Dish & Memorial Day to the mix and there will be tough enough to breathe in there - let alone dance

  4. You either have to get their super early and wait in the long ass line to buy a wristband before they reach capacity- or have your friends register you to their room for $40/person if they don't already have 4 people registered. If they do, the hardrock will not issue any other wristbands to that room.

They have a few people at the door checking for wristbands and are pretty strict

  5. Rubber says they are having a party at Empire from 10pm-10am that Sat nite - you say Boris is spinning....please clarify...

I was wondering the same thing - it says Scooter and Lavelle from 1:30 to 5:30 - I sure hope Boris goes on earlier than that considering the other 2 are out here all the time and Boris is flying out earlier that day all the way from NY

  6. Work This Pussy

What you got - what you do

Alright is getting a little old too - but still is a great song

There is quite a few others he still keeps in his rotation that are too old to be playing, yet too new and not quality enough to be considered classics

  7. Thats cool - you probably wouldn't have liked the music in Miami so much this year. Definitly a different sound than in years past - quite a bit of electro. Alot of the stuff he played @ Empire was what was heard from every big DJ down there - Sander, Deep Dish, Fancuilli, @ Nikki Beach on Monday, Fuck Me I'm Famous Party, Roger's Set (kind of disapointing to see him go in that direction - still a great party), even Calderone and Tenaglia pool party had a bunch of those tracks. If you get a chance, check out the Space set from 3-26-06 floating around and you will see what I mean.

I am in severe depression right now after hearing those tracks again and looking at my pix from WMC

  8. Morillo is like pizza: even when he's bad, he's still pretty good. He was bad for stretches yesterday, especially the first hour when he was awful. I'm still trying to figure out how people can say he was amazing. I found his set to be simply decent, and far below the best I have heard from him. That said, the party was a blast; Late Night Empire is unquestionably the #1 party in town for house music right now. I too was disappointed that Erick only played for 4 1/2 hours, but after playing for 14 hours on Friday night/Saturday morning at Pacha NYC for his birthday party, I wasn't surprised that he cut it short yesterday.

I too would like to say thank you to whoever is handling the bookings for Late Night Empire. Erick will be in LA on Friday, June 2nd for a gig at Avalon. See what you can do about snagging him for that Saturday night/Sunday morning. Also, see what you can do about booking some DJs that Ice won't book, like Sander Kleinenberg, Lee Burridge and James Zabiela.

I would also like to say that it was nice to see the place still have a great crowd around at 9:30am when Erick decided to call it a night, or morning rather.

Vegasguy - did you make it to Miami this year? I guess the reason why I found it amazing is that he played just about every big song from Space - shit I didn't think I would hear live for quite some time which brought some up some memories of rocking out on the terrace that Monday morning

    Outwork - Electro

    Ame - Rej

    who's who - Sexy Fuck

    Evermore - Its too late

    Rokysopp

Whatever the female vocal that says "Come on - Sombody - I need - I want it- just give it to me baby - this one night love afair - I need it - I need - I need it" - Track is absolutely insane

Red Carpet - Alright (not new but he really knows how to play this one)

Dropped some nice accapellas too as he was bringing in other tracks

Quite a few other too which I don't have ID's on yet

Could he have been better? Probably - but after a long night before in NY I still think he did a hell of a job. Love his energy in the booth and the vibe he brings. So much better than the last time he was here music and crowd wise.

  9. Fuckin Amazing!!!! Heard just about every single good tune from WMC and then some. Only disapointment was he only played for 4+ hours - but they were possibly the best I have ever heard out here. I'm done until Memorial Day b/c nothing can touch what that man played last night - anything else would be a huge disapointment.

Big thanks to EMPIRE and whoever else is involved in their bookings - what a treat to have him again - by far the BEST house music DJ around. Didn't even mind paying on wanttickets for presales for the party even though we could have gotten comped. Hopefully the club made some $$ and will get him back soon

Any idea how much $$ he got for that event?

  10. Dj Dan, Christopher Lawrence, Donald Glaude Friday night at ICE

DJ Boris Sunday morning at Empire for afterhours

Tiesto Sunday during the day at Rehab - Hardrock pool party

Jonathan Peters Sunday night @ ICE

Tiesto Monday Morning @ Empire for afterhours

Hopefully you like electronic music - Masterweb can probably inform you on Hip-hop special events they have at OPM

  11. $50 for that Pool Party is pretty damn high even though it will be well worth it.

2 days ago it was $30 - yesterday it was $50 - but late last night I saw it back down at $30 so I hopped on it and bought 6 tix for my group - saved me over $130!!!

W/in 5 minutes of that it was up to $40 - w/in 15 minutes it was back up to $50

And today I have seen it numerous times at $40 and $50

Something is messed up w/ the want tickets site

  12. I just called up w/ a question on the Space passes - last year you could walk up w/ a 5 day pass to lets say Morillo - have them punch 5 spots on the card for 5 different people and they would all get in and the pass would be done. Of course it could also be used for 5 different events.

So I tell the guy who answeres I had a question on the Space Passes, and before I could get another word out the guy told me to go to clubspace.com under tickets - everything is self explanatory and hung up on me

They way they treat customers is unfuckingbeleivable

  13. Last year Space's policy w/ the passes was that each punch was good for 1 event no matter who used them. For example, you could walk up to the door w/ a 3 day pass and 3 people - they would punch all 3 spots, the 3 people would get in, and that was the end of the pass.

Anyone know if the policy is the same this year - or for each pass, does 1 person actually have to attend 5 different events?

    Thanks
