  1. glad i was able to hear PVD since i did not go see him @ roxy....mucially he was on point.....flawless mixing....supreme crowd control....only PVD can create that sound w/o crossing over to cheese.....being that i'm getting a little older 12-1 was great.....anybody id that electro he dropped at 12:15?...bpm's are just way to hard to keep up with the rest of the night!!...somehow i managed but my knees were definitely feeling the pain......musically great night....i'm still on the fence if i like PVD's crowd....if you have never seen him i would say its a must just to hear his skills....but overall trance and hard trance is just not my thing and i think i'll keep my distance from the long lines, over-packed dance floor, and everything else that comes with it....PVD amazing....PVD nights all little to much to deal with
  2. if i was in your situation i would roll the dice and try to get them in a club....i've had tremendous success at arc....heard horror stories about people getting stiffed in twilo back in the day....every club has its house dealer and if you can figure out who that is or stumble across them you can be pretty sure its gonna be quality....watch out for people who ask you...lots of undercovers....also ask around and try to find someone who is on it and got it that night....that way you'll know if its good...point being...every place has a house dealer
  3. yo- cox will be destroying that PHAZON. almost like makn' the speakers break and shit. steve dashes fingerprints will be all over that evil sick faaaaawwwkinnnng HOLY SHIT PHAZON system. you gonna hook a nitro machine up to your air conditioning unit?
  4. yo- cox will be destroying that PHAZON. almost like makn' the speakers break and shit. steve dashes fingerprints will be all over that evil sick faaaaawwwkinnnng HOLY SHIT PHAZON system. you gonna throw a nitro-fog machine in that bad boy?
  5. Boones Strawberry/Kiwi Wine!!!! cisco is one of the nastiest drinks i have ever tried...we bought a bottle each in college and it took me about an hour to finish it....what is that crap anyway...some type of freaky wine....maddog 20/20 was my saving grace in high school...get your hands on 2 of those and you were set....so much easier then trying to lug around a 6 pack/12 pack of beer....
  6. that post got pretty screwed up....what i meant by new talent was that they need some new dj's brought into the scene.....lets get a night that offers more then just going to see so and so spin...i wanna have a place to go that i know the music will be great, but more importantly the party is going to be interesting....a place with a types of people and a true party that represents NYC to its fullest....i agree that residents are a huge factor in creating successful nights....point blank....promoters need to focus on the vibe of the party more....to much has been lost in just grabbing the biggest name jocks and trying to pack the house.....no one cares about the type of vibe the party is giving....thats where all these new clubs come into play....which one is going to take the bull by the horns....IS IT GOING TO BE LL, POWDER, ECT.???.....should be exciting to see how things unfold...
  7. i the baggage that the big boys carry....promoters need to refocus on the vibe....good music w/ an interesting crowd....no more of twant to see some homegrown-domestic dj's be given a shot....i'm sick of all the big name hoopla.......we need some new dj's w/o his big swinging dick dj-lets make as much money as possible stuff...thats what i mean by new talent...i don't even care if its rotating....residents are a huge element to creating great nights....
  8. i hear you....never been to roxy before....wanted to check out PVD to have at least seen him once....oh well....i've actually bored myself w/ this topic....so now i'll quit my crying....
  9. MADE EVENTS:peeleft: TO YOU SOMEBITCH!!
  10. pay it and stop complaining??...sorry for stating a concern and thanks for your great insight into my thread:laugh: .....like i said its not about the money....the concert arguement does not stand up either....this is about greed and business....i'll never stop complaining....i LOVE it....
  11. i too had a wrangler....green and tan.....did some sick off roading in that thing....really are one of the most fun things you can own....wranglers pull a lot of ass when you are young...girls can't get enough in the summer
  12. H2 is so nice....a little big for tri-state area...i would get one if i lived in colorado...or someplace where i was really gonna use it....5'5", must be trying to compensate for something else....nobody will be taller or bigger then him on the road!!...
  13. i was not a big fan of the multiple room layout...always seemed like it bottlenecked people from moving around....thats strange that they would cover up the stained glass windows....makes sense from a sound proofing view, but that was one of the best parts of the night.....debauchery in a church....i just hope that they focus on bringing in some new talent and not just on creating a place to see and be seen....a new venue with some fresh talent is what NYC needs....a place where people can escape into another world....its there for the taking....is thanksgiving eve gonna be the first night its open or is it just the grand opening party?.....wish i could have seen the party in all its glory...hopefully we can have some of those times again...
  14. you're right...i screwed that part up....still feel stongly about my views though....
  15. were you working there when that whole murder fiasco happend?... that was something else....who has the residency for the new venue....what type of crowd are they going for...21+?...i think the reopening is going to do a lot for the scene....they should move the dj booth and build it so it looks like an altar...although that might be a little to overboard....
  16. thanks captain obvious....i was not even refering to your post....i thought it was funny...just stating that people on this board in general will probably not have the excitement level that he was talking about....
  17. are they still gonna have that loft area by the top of the roof....i used to love to hang there and watch everyone on the floor below.....great memories up there w/ all my friends....what about lasers....that would be a great venue for some lasers....kinda like crobar in miami....anyway...i excited for the opening....can't wait for DT on thanksgiving eve...
  18. jaysea - don't forget that a lot of people on this board are really young and the limelight does not have a whole lot of meaning to them. limelight to you is like twilo to them. if twilo was reopening everyone would be going ape-shit. besides...if anyone tries to write something serious on this board it just gets blown off. people would rather have 1000 posts on how retarded danwilson is or be writing terrible reviews on a night and only using words like "shit, faaaaawwwwkkiinnngg, evil sick beats".
  19. this is the worst review thread i have ever read....can someone please post a good review....
  20. why don't you wipe that brown streak off your face....i don't believe for one minute that made events has to charge $50 to support the cost of this production......it comes down to one thing....demand....people are willing to pay this price b/c they feel that its necessary to see PVD this weekend @ Roxy.....if people just stopped to think a little bit they would realize that PVD has been here 3 times in the past 3-4 months....why see him now when chances are he'll be back here soon......i can only imagine the made events team at about 9 tomorrow morning....they'll be feasting on caviar and champagne over at the plaza tea brunch while counting their never ending stack of $50 bills.....how much does it really cost to start sending out promotional ads via the internet....next to nothing...what else has made done....create some posters....maybe an ad in the village voice....maybe they spent a couple thousand dollars promoting this...if that....its not the $10 that is hurting people....thats like 2 meals at mcdonalds...its the fact that people should pay around $25 to see a dj and get into a club....now we have seen that bar raised to $40...now $50....and people into the scene go to clubs on a frequent basis and get multiple opportunities to see the same dj throughout the year....so now seeing PVD 4X could cost you 200 vs. 100...thats 100% more then it used to cost....now factor in that you might have 4 superstar dj's that you love and your cost becomes 800 vs 400....the problem becomes exponetial.....thats the outrage here....there is frequency of the same people attending these functions.....until people start looking for alternative ways to hear music or more underground functions they'll be wrapped up in this commercialization of the scene and be forced to consistently pay these prices....once the promoters get a taste for how much money they are going to make tonight there is no turning back.....prices will just keep going up and up until people find alternative venues....salary capping dj's is a method that can't work....either people have to 1) refuse to pay the money to see a particular dj, or 2) promoters have to start seeking out cheaper dj's that can turn a party out.....thats my take on this situation....
  21. did you go out for halloween last night? or did you not go out, or went out for halloween?
  22. i just had our group of 7 bail on this idea. i hope the "paul faaaawwwwwkkkinnngggg van dyke" "destroys the phazon" and "works your little feet so hard that they hurt" among all the other gargabe that all the little feeble minded kiddies post on this board. i'll be exploring nyc and finding a much better way to spend $50. i suggest others do also and let made events suck on the massive bill the pvd will be charging for his 6 hours at the office.
  23. uncle mings - 225 avenue b 2nd floor its above a liquor store. dj's are different every time i guess. i've been there about 4 times, and one saturday night it did turn into hip-hop night! other then that i heard breaks, house, progressive, disco, 80's. lots of beats from the 80's! there are so many better bars just down the street from the underbar. honestly, go to the underbar then walk to uncle mings. you'll see the difference (that is if its not hip-hop night).
  24. i would check out uncle mings on 14th and b. underbar is commercial, crowded, dark, and full of attitude and suits. uncle mings is a lounge, with dj, good prices, and true new yorkers w/o all the attitude. much better place for people who are attracted to clubplanet message boards!!
