I go where the music is. I would never go to Buzz just to go. We go to Adam's Morgan on Saturdays cuz Yiannis plays new shit (at least after 12:30 or so....), albeit circuit house. Keep your eyes open, subscribe to all the BS email lists here. 85% is crap, but every few weeks something pops up. We try to follow the DJs, fuck the venue. 1223, Modern, Velvet, Buzz, Red, 9:30 Club, Heaven, Five, Volt (remember that place?). I don't think I would go to place where I couldn't stand the music. And every bar owner in this town has their head up their ass except for maybe Thievery Corp. Off topic a lil: That's why I think that comment from that chick representing BASIK was wrong. The club should not "focus on the music" so much as they should bring in DJs who focus on the music. I know that's prolly what she meant, but I just envisioned the club owner standing in the DJ booth staring over shoulder as you peruse your records.

No more crack for you. By "plenty" you must mean more than one. Still, Velvet is a fun night, but don't get your hopes up about girlies. Most people will know that you're straight and only dance with you to fuck with you.....there's a cool vibe though. PLus, the circuit thing traditionally has the tribal element to it which is pretty cool for us proggies.

Police Chief Ramsey Protest Briefing Comments: * There are 5,000 - 30,000 ppl. expected for the protest * The protests will take place on Sept. 27, 28, and 29. * The IMF Fall meeting is the largest meeting. * Friday, Sept. 27 is labeled "shut down city day" because they are supposed to disrupt traffic throughout the entire city, not just downtown. * There will be 1500 extra cops brought in that day from DC and surrounding areas. * The high alert areas are between 12th and 24th St. and Constitution to K St., NW. * Previous targets have been GAP, Old Navy, Citibank, Starbucks, etc. * The protesters have secured park permits for many parks in the NW area. * There are two websites that explicitly state what planned protest will look like: www.abolishthebank.org www.indymedia.org Precautions: * Do not drive on Friday * Do not schedule deliveries for Friday * Remove trash and other items from outside so protesters do not use them to vandalize property.
