  1. Hey, I was checking out some of the festivals in Europe this summer and I came across "The Love From Above" party on July 9 @ Columbiahallen, Berlin. Timo Maas, Nu NRG (live), Tiesto, and PvD... in one place... for one night! I am DEFINATELY going because I'm going to Love Parade anyways and I thought about asking you because I know how you make all those crazy-ass trips anyways. This would be badass, man! I'm stoked!! You and Edgar should definately come. Better yet, Edgar should spin!!! If that happened, my top 3 DJs would all be there... daaaamn, that shit would be ridiculous!!!

  2. I'm still trance 4 life. I do like techno as well though and I'm especially interested in listening to the new Marco V cd's. I think I'll plop by and maybe see Stryke as well... as long as I am on the list

  3. If they are the pics from Crobar last weekend, it is because they were taken with my camera. I still have them. Arturo, pm me so we can figure out a way to get them to you

  4. Shit, that could be a bad thing actually. I wrote a letter in responce to last week's cover story: Where the Sidewalk Ends. It was a piece about this homeless guy "Red" and his life on the beach. It was pretty good until the end where he started ripping the agency that I work for, City of Miami Beach-Homeless Coordination. Actually, I am an unpaid social work intern there for a year (until late April). After reading the article, I sat down at school and wrote my responce to the ripping and challenging the paper to come to a story on us. I was just tired of people saying ignorant shit when our success rate has been phenomanal. From the time our work began in August, to the time we took a census in December, we reduced the beachs homeless population by 20%. Our program is on point, but we are understaffed and overworked so I think some good press would create opportunities for all of us who work there. However, when I told my supervisor about the letter, she got worried. Apparantly, we are supposed to keep a tight lid on what we say. Since I'm just an intern, I didn't have authority to write that, but I didn't know that. Supposedly, you have to go through the "proper channels" which sounds a bit bureaucratic. I like being outspoken and now that the letter is for everyones reading, I'll probably get berated. I think its worth it though because I'd feel alot worse just to sit there and keep my mouth shut while we are getting ripped

  5. ---- XM RADIO -----

When XM radio was first coming out, I remember being sooo excited because I thought the satelittes signals would be able to give me radio stations from all over the world. I thought I would be able to get Radio 1, ID&T, and all that shit. When I found out it wasn't much better than the radio stations on satelitte TV I was grossly disappointed, to say the least. My point is, I think it would be an awesome idea to create a turner that picks up stations all over the world via satelitte. Many stations can be listened to over the internet so the technology is there, its just a matter of time. Whenever it is made though, I will be the first in line

    MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY!!!!

Especially on Tuesday 6-8 and Friday 8-10!!!!! Party 93.1 needs a splash of the Prangle. However, all other time except T 6-8 and F 8-10, suuuuck balllllls on 1640

  7. I had a blast. That was my first time in a DJ booth ever and it is an amazing experience. I gotta wear a better shirt next time though. A ton of great songs including:

    Ton TB - Dream Machine

    Tiesto - Traffic (Montana mix)

Tiesto & BT - Love Comes Again (Mark Norman mix)

    Introspection (Askew mix)

    Mark Norman - Phantom Manor

Benny Benassi - No Matter What You Do (G&M Project mix)

PvD - Time Of Our Live

... I pray next time he has Mike Heart - Sex Machine

The crowd was a little weird (dancing but not wildly) which I'll attribute to Spring Break. Great seeing everybody!!

---mdamon--- Remember that girl in the blue dress? :bounce: :bounce:   :bounce: :bounce:

I would love the hell out of that. Me, you, and Miriam. Sorta like a European "Charles in Charge" meets "Human Traffic" That would be siiiiick if y'all came. I know I'm all set up, so it's up to you. Even if it were a short stay (Love Parade?) that would be badass. Ha, we'll talk about it over drinks at Crobar tonight

How about festivals? Does anyone know anything about them?

also, check if your cell phone can be used in europe if u change the lil chip inside so that way while ur traveling u can text ppl and get in touch with everyone.

i might hit up europe this summer too after graduation, so ill let u know if i end up doing anything ;)

also, if u plan to fly to a couple places, check ryanair.com- they have super cheap fares.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR :D :D :D Thanks Miriam!!

  10. Whats up my dysfuntional family away from my disfunctional family ;) ??? I'm going to Europe this summer as a graduation trip from my parents. I am going alone which will make me very flexible and mobile to shit I want to do. I'll be there for 6-8 weeks and I need all the help I can get. Have any of you ever been to Europe or heard stories from others who have? I planned out a preliminary trip and I am looking for ANY and ALL suggestions you have. I'm looking to do a half-tourist/half-clubber kind of thing. This is my plan so far:

    Dublin

    Liverpool

    London

    Paris

    Brussels

Breda, Holland (check out Tiesto's record shop)

    Amsterdam

    Stockholm

    Berlin

    Munich

    Vienna

    Budapest

    Athens

    Rome

    Florence

    Milan

    Versaille, France

    Barcelona

    Madrid

    Valencia

    IBIZA!!!

    I need help with:

    - alternate cities to stop by

    - cultural info (musuems, food, scenic areas, etc.)

    - Festivals (ex: Love Parade in Berlin)

    - Sick nightclubs

THANKS A TON... I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

  11. What can I say, the Tony Montana thread inspired me! DJ Montana is relatively new to the scene, but he's signed on Magik Musik label and was at the Kremlin party for WMC. I just started listening to him and he's pretty damn good. He's remixed alot of shit including Traffic and seems to have a pretty solid future ahead of him. He spins hard techno, but its enjoyable for people who are starting to listen to techno like myself. Anyone else wanna give props to Magik's techno specialist?

  12. NEW TIËSTO SINGLE AND ARTIST ALBUM OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED"

    Hello everybody,

Well, the last few days the whole forum has been in uproar because of rumours about Tiësto's upcoming new album. Some people even managed to come up with tracks on the album. And of course, where there is smoke, there must be a fire. Let us present you with the official newsflash:

"Rumours have been going around for awhile, but now we can officially confirm the release of a new Tiësto single, the follow-up of his last anthem "Traffic". This time Tiësto teams up with L.A.-based Brian Transeau, BT for those who know what he's been up to. Unlike other collaborations with fellow-producers, BT does not push any buttons, but actually provides the vocals for this innovative production.

    "Love Comes Again" cover

Tiësto has turned the song into the perfect mix of dancefloor sounds and mesmerizing melodies. As usual our man delivers the a-side mix, whilst on the b-side Magik Muzik signing Mark Norman grind it up some more by bringing in an edgier rhythm section and a surprise breakdown.

Love Comes Again will be released middle of April, and is the second single of the forthcoming artist album "Just Be", which features a total of 10 tracks, Also included on 'Just Be' is the much-wanted Tiësto version of 'Adagio For Strings'. More info to follow shortly..."

    "Just Be" album cover

So, there you all have it. It's official, including the covers,

Tiësto and the Black Hole Crew.

  13. I think they are good on weekend nights with Nocturnal Sessions and Global DJ Broadcast. I'd like to hear more stuff like that, but I understand that they need to play that awful cheesy shit during the day for mainstream folks they are looking to attract. I wouldn't mind hearing an MC either as long as they were competant. I don't really care for Pete Tong as a DJ, but he's an excellent MC. Something like that could spice things up... just not Buster. I respect Buster's intentions about bringing good press to dance music, but he is just tooooo yappy on the radio. We gotta keep one thing in perspective, this is the only pure dance channel in the mass media of this country, so it takes time to develop through trial and error. Would I prefer ID&T or Radio One over Party 93.1? Sure, but I have faith Party will continue to experiment and grow into something we ALL can enjoy

  14. Hey, I just got this sprint cell phone and it can download music, but I dont know where to find any good shit. The program it goes through has bull---- like Blue (Da ba di) and stuff. I need some Flight 643 playing everytime someone calls or something. Know any places I could get hooked up? Thanks a ton

  15. or maybe...

Since their are alot of mainstream artists that want remixes of their material, is it important for dance music to keep its distance so it doesn't become mainstream itself?

This is of my personal interest because I feel dance music has become watered down in recent years and I feel the music's edge is it's below-the-radar vibe like cursing and violence is hip hop's edge.

  16. As it stands now:

    ---Without a doubt---

    Radio 1 @ Nikkki Beach

    pre-WMC social @ Fort Dekan

    PvD @ Space

    Ultra

    Tiesto @ Space

    Kremlin @ Space

Picotto @ Privilege on the 13th

    ---Options (depends on my crew)---

    Armin @ Mansion

    Carl Cox @ Crobar

    Jonathan Peters @ Shellbourne

Blue Bookings (Liebing, Picotto?) @ Privilege

  17. I'd have to say Deep Dish @ Space as well because for the last 3 hours of Ultra, the MC announces "the official afterparty is at Space" and everyone there thinks they are getting in. Eventhough many are under 21, everyone still goes because it is basically across the street. The becah is gonna be a mob scene as well after Ultra. I want to see Carl Cox, but getting there will take an hour (at least) and by then the place will be at capacity. So getting in will probably be anoth hour and, by then, it will be 3:00. Not worth $35 to see Coxy for only 2 hours, if you ask me.
