  1. i wonder if you'd have the wit or nerve to go to Ivano and tell him that yourself (the '20 dollar CD' observation), much less write reviews about DJs for published magazines or anything remotely close to that. and as i said THANKS for the COMPLIMENT i can take that gracefully ...it's very kind of you
  2. no comment.....no need to insult anyone in this board.
  3. ...........And blatantly bashing Ivano Bellini (Club Space 34 Thread), Roland and Steve Lawler as djs isnt HARSH either....and shows a 'great deal' of musical knowledge??? I can think of several quotes: ------------------------------------------------------------ Ivano "$20 for a CD" Bellini ?? thats not harsh. hmmmmm.... what about "he is "successful" at Space cuz it's the only afterhours and the crowd is royally fucked up, not all but easy 80% of it is". ------------------------------------------------------------- Enough said....
  4. you dont need to like Lawler to be able to recognize his ability as a dj .....i dont like George Acosta at all but can acknowledge that he can mix and play his trance well ........AND certainly i wouldnt name MYSELF after him ... btw thanks for the compliment --->
  5. If you cant acknowledge the talents of Lawler as a dj and all you can say comment is that he was 'nothing out of this world' then you dont know anything about music. In the blueroom, Lawler had amazing buildups and his use of sampling with one word vocals and accapellas....................is awesome. He was definitely more progressive than tribal in the blue room. On the other hand his set in the patio had a tribalist twist. I am sure people can remember hearing 'Music is the Answer' as the foam machine was going on and Depeche Mode's remix of ‘Only When’ ....and the list goes on and on. Lawler seemed very comfortable with the crowd & just really happy to be there. One more thing, you may dislike Ivano personally or as DJ but you cant take away the fact that this man is good at what he does & that his charisma and music are part of the success of the Sunrise Sessions as a weekly party.
  6. Posting ML's 'a-list of parties' means nothing to me in terms of music. Thats completely useless information for people that go out clubbing for the love of music and good party atmosphere.
  7. Both are top notch DJs - different styles so i'd say both cant be missed........... Steve Lawler plays even better in the patio -and his great basslines are awesome in the blue room. These two guys (to me) cant be compared to anyone locally...................
  8. Well, union lounge is union lounge, after hours, pretty good djs but it is NOT Nikki Beach........as far as the atmosphere, any after hours, after Space party is going to have a weird thing going on. let's be honest, i dont know anyone high on life, staying up from partying on Sat looking great at 2pm ....THE NEXT DAY!!! '::' if you do, i'd like to interview them and learn how they DO it...... ''
  9. sorry got too excited and forgot to write the date, duh! he is a great DJ, have a listen at groovetech.com, there is a few archives of his show Music is Freedom...........i'm definitely there!
  10. what kind of "ATMOSPHERE" do you expect at 3 pm in the afternoon at an AFTER HOURS place? just curious....? Union Lounge has great music .....
  11. Over the course of 2001 and now into 2002, Paolo has played at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Zouk (Singapore) Fabric (London), Bedrock (London) Pacha (Ibiza), TeXound (Taiwan) and several appearances at TLV / Pacha and The Dome in Tel Aviv. He has toured Asia for DJ Magazine with Tom 'Superchumbo' Stephan and has begun a monthly residency in Ireland for Inertia where he delivers monthly six-hour sets that are gathering him a fanatically loyal following. He has also recently begun a residency in London with Gatecrasher on the final Friday of the month, hosting the entermusic room at Heaven, a twisted house room that plays host to the likes of 16b and Medicine and is proving a roaring success. He has appeared regularly at John Digweed’s Bedrock nights in London and Brighton and guested on his Kiss FM radio show. He plays regular sets on Groovetech.com and is praised the world over for his distinctive, clever, style involving effects, edits and acapellas. Paolo exploded on to the international scene in 2001 to unprecedented acclaim with the release of his promo CD mix, Music Is Freedom. Highlights included winning Muzik magazine’s Bedlam competition (and a subsequent nomination for ‘Best Bedlam DJ’ at their annual awards) and being chosen as the winner of Rapture TV’s Homelands Contest. Paolo was also touched to receive personal messages of congratulations from Danny Tenaglia, Carl Cox and Lee Burridge as well as huge underground and Internet based support from all over the world ''
