  1. Ull never see me @ ur Venue. U guys fawked up
  2. Its kinda hard to classify. Its a little Tribal, a little vocal, on the main floor. The upstairs was more ambient. i think...i duno, check it 4 ur self, and you tell me. its kinda hard to say. I mean they played eveything from "I wanna be a drummer" (If anyone has that on 12" I wanna buy it, let me know) to "Missing"
  3. All in all. it was pretty good. By far the most unique club I have ever been do, as well as the most unique clubbing experience. Frist of all. It is nothing like Twilo. The music is different, the crowd is different, and the place has been redone. There is a restraunt on the 2nd floor. there were massage tables, tarot card readers, virtual reality glasses. like I said, nothing I have ever scene b 4 @ a night club. In terms of the party. The vibe was incredible. Everyone was happy and smiling. The staff was very nice, walked right in. They had dancers and performers on stage on the main floor, and they were incredible. I hung out in the DJ booth for a while. I am glad to say that they actually do have a real DJ at this venue. My suggestion: Check it out at least once. Its not my typical thing, but I would go back.
  4. Hopefully the place will be closed in 2 months
  5. Fuck Crobar. read my previous posts regarding the subject. I give a big to Crobar
  6. :finger:FUCK YOU CROBAR:finger: My Story: I waited on the very short line. There was a group of 5 infront of me, and I was by myself. Out of the group the 4 girls got in, and the 1 guy didnt. Then the faggot running the door told me "Your not getting in tonight. Staff was very rude. Especially that fawking faggot who runs the door the ugly bitch. She can go fawk her/him/itself. :finger:That has never happened to me before. I guess there is a first for everything. I guess if you have titts and a pussy you can get it? Screw that, Crobar is now my #1 hated club. Wound up going to Spirit. Had a great time!!! Went to Penn after for the ride home. Found out that Crobar was dead anyways...HA HA FUCK YOU CROBAR
  7. The treend started years ago when Tunnel, Limelight, and Twilo died. We can all blame :finger:Rudy Guilani:finger:
  8. Good RIdence to yet another talented NY DJ, right? wow, lets see, where have I scene friends move to in the past year, Hardfort, Tampa, Italy, the list goes on.

  10. Im not gonna knock SF, or Jr. But as far as I know, it is now the "party for men who love men"
  11. Dude, I am in the same boat you are. I am graduating from college this month. Let me help you with the math. 1. you spend money on clubbing? How lame is that? I dont pay for clubs or drinks, i get comps on both the door and the bar. 2. durgs...well, which is more important to you. Shit, maybe I should do what Danny does, and start calling out the druggies at clubs. I dont really care what you do. But when I was doing Tunnel until 10:00, 11:00, noon. I was just as high as everybody else. But it was purely from the music and the lights. I never touched a drug. 3. Girls... If you got game, they'll buy u shit. Also: when I started a few years ago, it was only vinyl. I had no choice in the matter. I also had to pay for rent, car insurance, bills, etc. I do give you credit on 1 thing. At least you are independent, and not living under mommy and daddy (thats a good thing). Do what I did. Make friends with common interests. Here I am with a full studio invinting anyone that wants to come over and mix to do so. When I started I used to go over my friend Richards house with the cuppiccino machine, and we would mix all day, night, over night, whenever we could. And when we met, I was just some kid with a cell phone, trying to get into club X. And start 1 record at a time. I have thousands of records. Do you think i got them in 1 shot. No, I started with 2 records. And my first mix CD was mad off beat. But I practiced, and invested. so..Now you are gonna beat me up...wow....where is our maturity level on this 1. Im not a fighter. I never claimed to be. Im not about to ruin my life over some petty BS. DJing for me is a hobby, something i love to do, and I have fun doing it. If you want a punching bag to get out your agression, then go to a gym.
  12. fak it, ill spin for myself. at least the music will be good.
  13. very funny. Ill give you that 1
  14. WTF, do you listen??? Holy Shit. please do not respond to this post anymore, Its for real DJs, which you are not! what, cant mix vinyl? What do you need. Ur laptop, and PCDJ software. How about this, why dont you develop some talent then call me in the morning. I bet my girl friends have more talent in their pinky than you do. I bet you dont even know how to "Put the Needle on the Record"
  15. Sure Donnie. This weekend is good for me. just hit me up AIM "The Nice Pilot"
  16. Yea, thats right NY. Get rid of all ur talent. Let see where I have scene good people go in the past year. Hardford, Tampa, Italy... etc. Good Riddance indeed. Im not gonna throw an ego, but there are DJs out there that arent DJing anywhere that should be, and the whack ass DJs are getting the work that shouldnt be.
  17. You and me both. Once apon a time I was a music director for a radio station in San Jose California. I DJed at a lot of venues and parties in the bay area. When I moved out to NY I established a residency at the legendary Tunnel. Probolly the best night I have ever worked at. Now...My avg crowds are either 16 or 60.... Take that for what its worth, but the scene today is breaking my heart. I have scene a better NY. Now liquid, you wanna throw down. I have a system. I am moving back to California by the end of the month. But I am not dead. If you cacn get a venue, keep me in mind. I am sure that we have stured up enough controversey on this board to get people just to check it out.
  18. Which would you rather have. 1. Promoter DJ: Brings 100 people the first week and the club is packed out beyond control for the first week but by week 6 the party is dead because the DJs friends realize that he sucks as a DJ and everyone else does do. 2. Talented DJ Club is OK the first week, builds up a crowd and people come back the following weeks and bring friends. Scanerio: I was going to a club, I wont mention the venue, but my buddy, Carlo Caruso, was the DJ. I would come back and bring a friend or two. Then 1 week, they had this new DJ. Let me tell you, I am a househead, but it was the first week I ever left the club when house music started. The new DJ was trying to play an acapella at 127 with a trance dub at 140, and left both songs at neutral. Obviously he didnt know what the fuck he was doing. But I gotta say 1 thing, the place was packed with this DJs friends. The avga ge probolly dropped from 20 - 16. (hmmm...wonder how the bar handeled that night?) I asked my friend that was throwing the party, what happened to Carlo. He responded "Sorry Ian, It's not about talent anymore, its about bringing people." Needless to say, I have never gone back to that venue, and I dont even think that party exists anymore. Heres what I will do for you: I will bring good music, my talent and skill, and keep people comming back. YOU (the promoter) Bring the people initially. O, and the people I do bring. They get in FREE, NOT REDUCED, and they dont wait on line. Shit, even at Tunnel, all my friends got in free, and they didnt wait on line either.
  19. HE HE HE... Now you all know why I dont go out anymore. The last time I went out, it was so bad... I wantedto cry. But dont worry. The DJ wasnt just a DJ. He was a promoter, and he was also throwing the party, and doing a milolion and 1 things as well as DJing. (you know, he was the head of security, working the door, checking the guest list, being the sound tech, working the lights, bartending, shot guying, and barbacking...all at the same time. Welcome to the new DJ for 2003) Shit, When I DJ, the only time I leave the both is to go to the bar, and use the bathroom.
  20. djqwest You know what I am talking about. Once apon a time, it didnt matter if I brough 1 person, 10 people, or 100 people. How to get a job DJing then: Give demo to person who does booking. If the music you picked was good. You programmed the music good. You were on beat Your sound was good You got a job And when you got a job DJing you got a guest list, and all your friends got in FREE. Today: Bring people. Promters dont even care about your demo anymore, not necessary. Just bring people. Today, you will get a guest list, and your friends will get in for a "REDUCED" admission
  21. not at all. But it shouldnt matter. And the DJs friends, should get in VIP. O shit, i forgot, VIP has lost its meaning in NY. What does that mean? They get in for free, and they dont wait in line.
  22. I "invite" any "DJ" to come to my studio and make a mix. Ill take care off all the production work for them. Here's the basics: Technics SL1210MKII turntable (2) RANE MP24Z Mixer Bring needles, headphones and 12" I posted a new mix http://bbs.clubplanet.com/music/showphoto.php?photo=101&password=&sort=1&cat=503&page=1 I will even upload it on the site if you want. I have broadband.
  23. I have nothing to loose. I've already gone as far as I can here.
