  1. I thought Jon was real good...haters! I also thought that George tore it up. I just wish that GA would've gone on when it was dark to get the full effect of his set. PVD ws out of hand but I really believe that Acosta threw down a better set...
  2. Great Event! Hats off to Party 93.1 for throwing a great concert. PVD rocked it...no question. I got there right when Acosta went on. Within 10 minutes of him spinning, the crowd tripled. Say what you want but George always packs them in and his set was flat out SICK! GA and PVD were AMAZING back to back. Jon Secada's performance was very cool. The tracks he and GA are coming out with are awesome. When he performed Just Another Day - everyone around me was singing...good to see that more major artists are starting to realize that Dance music is the real deal...

  4. Don't like his style but isn't what Oscar G plays considered tribal?
  5. Tiesto without a doubt...
  6. Take it how you may...but I take it like...you try to take out an American president and we'll come back to get you. Can you imagine if he would've taken out GB? They would've found weapons of Mass destruction alright...the one's we would've dropped on their ass! I agree that there may be a personal vendetta but I also agree that Saddam needed to be out!
  7. Obby - Very well said. "Peace by force" - Ronald Regan This is exactly what we are trying to employ. Sure they've not found any weapons of mass destruction but the message was VERY CLEAR. DO NOT FUCK WITH US BECAUSE WE'LL COME BACK TO GET YOU. We took out the main threat in that hell hole (the Middle East) and don't be so ignorant as to think that he had NOTHING to do with 9/11. Even though I am in opposition to the war for the simple fact that over 500 young American troops have been killed Iraq but they are the heros that are making this country better for your kids and mine. I am not a republican nor am I a democrat but one thing I am is a fan of this country and stand by it every way I can. I agree with Obby- if you don't like the power that America's earned...then get the FUCK OUT! simply said. Because of this use of force, Lybia has opened its doors and North Korea has settled down...think they got the message? Al Queda is dismantaling and Bin Laden - you peice of shit - YOU'RE NEXT!
  8. What is wrong with Miami...oh great scholar? Please enlighten us.
  9. I like Eddie G...I mean, he's no George Acosta but he's cool...
  10. Robbie Rivera - Acosta - and Jon Secada @ Shelbourne
  11. Robbie was SICK! In my opinion, GA was the most welcomed DJ there. The crowd went NUTS when he came on...that introduction by Jon Secada (yes, the Jon Secada) was insane! GA's set was the best set I've heard in a LONG TIME. Can't name any tracks because I don't know the names of them but man...he went off. He really got the crowd going...the promoters kept him on the longest because he had the party moving so much. I think he spun for 2 hrs... great vibe...great party...tops on my list for next year. tranz - agreed! Lot's of sexy women!
  12. George and Robbir TORE IT UP! Wasn't too big on JJ's set...great party!
  13. I hear that DJ Felix Salma from THE ROOF is the resident DJ for Notorious Wed... I'm heading out...good times!

GA tore it up last night. I left at 4 and he was still spining...place was packed, great crowd, great vibe, great DJ. As for GA's rep, I got a chance to meet the guy last night...don't know where he get's that rep...he was nothing but nice to my friends and I... GA is still packing them in after all these years.

    Acosta-tonight

Level last week was off the hook! I must say, GA TORE it up last week. By far the best set I've heard from anyone in a looooong time! The place was PACKED and sure to be there again tonight. Acosta get's no love from CP but that is one bad mofugga! Enough with all this Space this Space that BS, come see a real DJ...the DJ that paved the way for Space...the DJ that Space wants and cannot get, nor compete against when he is in town. I am tired of reading so much bitching about Space...what is it with that place? I've only been there once (old space) and vowed never to go again. Forget Disney being the "happiest place on Earth," Space (Disney @ Downtown-the only reason why I know this is because you all write about it so damn much) is the "DIRTIEST place on earth." Then again, being in the business, I tip my hat to whomever owns Space--No publicity is bad publicity.
  19. I happen to believe that a DJ is at his best when he is playing music that he loves. I can tell you that George loves what he plays. He plays it with passion and love and enjoys every record he drops. He also still packs rooms around the world, and yes, in Miami. I am into a different sound than George's but I respect him as an artist, a businessman, a friend, a pioneer, and as a guy I counted on for years to deliver the good and make me money...he never let me down. Your musical tastes may have changed since the Shadow Lounge days, but that does not mean that George sucks now. George is the same DJ that a lot of you used to praise as the greatest. I agree that GA hasn't changed his style significantly since then but that's because he loves that sound. There are many Djs who you still love that have not changed their style in years. But, instead of saying that you're not into the sound he plays, you say he's shit. I really don't get it...people who claim to love Dance Music and the scene yet put each other down or dis the DJ if they disagree about which style of House is the best. Why not try to grow the scene by supporting all genres? Why not try to share the particular sound you're into with someone else and give their sound a chance? Hell, I even respect Saleen's love of vocal diva house. In case you haven't noticed, this music that we love and its surrounding culture are under fire from all sides. Sales are in serious decline. We're losing clubs to Hip-Hop at an alarming rate. Dance labels are going out of business every day. You all praise Hooj and even they are now going out of business. Ultra has to jump through hoops to be allowed to put on a festival. Congress is passing laws that target this scene specifically. My point is that this is the time for unity. This is the time to embrace all forms of Dance. This is the time to show clubs that they don't have to go all Hip-Hop to survive by supporting events even if there's no Tiesto on the flyer. Support George Acosta even if you are into a different sound. Support any Dance event and embrace every Dance fan. Grow the scene. Stop the negativity. Either that or don't complain when the scene is dead and gone. Dade Well Said. Amen to that!
  20. Do you really think that GA is THAT bad? I don't go to places just because they are packed...that is the problem with Miami...to many indians, not enough chiefs. People are followers. When people say GA sucks, the followers are there to back up the statement. There are few people on this board/Miami in general that state what they like because it is what they like. There is no loyalty in Miami...look at the Marlins. Miamians want to kick you when your down and praise you when your doing good...no loyalty. Whether you like him or not, you have to tip your hat to GA. In an indirect way he is responsible for all the dance clubs you frequent today. He put Miami on the map as far as dance goes. I am a fan of GA's and appreciate the talent.
  21. GA can still rock the house in Miami, NY, Cali, and Zimbabwae. He is an international staple in the dance music industry. I reacall being in Brazil on a business trip and seeing GA's Next Level poster up on a chain of record stores in Sao Paulo. GA is known everywhere. Whether or not he is the "flavor of the month" in Miami does not dictate whether he is in or out to the rest of the world. GA is one of the handfull of International DJ's that sells. He has created an extensive fan base all over the WORLD that no other south florida DJ has-nor millions of DJ's all over the world. You can't argue with that fact. Whether his live sets are not as great as his recorded sets is a personal opinion. Last time I saw GA at Maze, the place was PACKED! He must be doing something right....
  22. I can relate to being "PASSIONATE"...I just hope he doesn't blow up too much, he might explode or spontaneously combust! And we wouldn't want that to happen to poor ol' George!!!! LMAO!
  23. I can relate to being "PASSIONATE"...I just hope he doesn't blow up too much, he might explode or spontaneously combust! And we wouldn't want that to happen to poor ol' George!!!! LMAO!
  24. Angry? Not angry...just hyped and waiting for the day that soon will come where all you CP trance haters will finally give credit where credit is due. Telling you...Acosta is about to blow up HARD! Stay tuned.... No anger from me...just love. that's all....a little pationate in what I believe in at times...but on a lighter note, You guys are all down people and I hope to meet some of you some day soon. I am all
