  2. once upon a time deep in the land of hip hop on south beach................... the one thought that kept runnng thru my mind was...this is like the mix and shadow....small place..incredible vibe...all the people were really into the music...not walking back and forth trying to look cool. the place was packed and stayed packed until i left..intimate room..but with a nice sized dancefloor...the f'n sound system was bangin. chris liebing is what it means to be a DJ. you can tell he really loves the music he plays..he had such a vibe going with the crowd. unlike other "big time" DJs that stand there and seem almost bored with the music that they play...he was giving the crowd high fives..awesome...and technically speaking-the guy was out of control...he must have played over 100 songs in 3 hours...not one wasted second..... i have two complaints...they need to fix the A/C...it was hot as fuck..(ha..just like shadow)...and they need to get rid of that rude, arrogant cunt at the front door...what a fucking bitch-as many people that were there.-she drove a lot of people away pissed off. ok, editorial time. i heard space was dead...makes me think...clubspace was the introduction of the "superclub"... with many advantages-large venue, superstar DJs, high tech lights and sound...but with many disadvantages, that, if not mananaged could be a downfall. a couple of years ago, the smaller venues, with the intimate, loyal crowds were the norm here..space opened and realistically the only places that ever did any significant business as a club after that were crobar and to a lesser extent level. space has ridden a huge level of success, but, one would think that, due to the recent low turnouts, people want something different. could it be that space lost touch with creating that loyal audience? is everyone turned off by the whole "were closing" thing? is it that so much effort was put into the tiestos and the pvds..that noone shows up when its not one of them?... i loved the old space..as big as it was, there was a sense of intimacy there....since the new space opened-i just havent felt the vibe. too many people seemingly walking back and forth..kind of like lost fish in a bowl of light and sound. one thing i know is that i had a blast last night...
  3. what a fucking DJ....a different record every 2 min... puts everyone else to shame.

the thing with acosta is that if you hear him one night...he will be awesoem play some realy great tracks and the next night he will be cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese. hes gotten such a bad reputation from being a asshole to people and going to gigs and getting so fucked up that he could barely spin... back in the shadow days he was the shit..bottom line. and ive yet to see some of that shadow lounge energy be duplicated

  7. well guys.... i guess they say never underestimate the power of prayer. last night around 12midnight the staff at the ICU had notified my aunt to come to the hospital. my cousin wasnt looking so good. it was a long night, however, around 6am, his temperature dropped and his breathing normalized. things are on now on the upswing. thanx to everyone for your kind words gregg
  8. this seems to be the week of tragedy for me. on saturday my older cousin in NY....jeff was found unconscious. He is 41. It was discovered that he had undiagnosed diabetes and had slipped into a coma. he has been in a coma for the last week and on a respirator. he started to improve, however, i just recieved a call from my mom saying that he had taken a dramatic turn for the worst. if any of you can find the time to send up a prayer for my older cousin..my family would appreciate it. he was like my older brother growing up and i idolized him. thank you, gregg
  9. thanx everyone for the kind words.
  10. once and awhile ill post something serious and meaningful. over three years ago i moved back to miami and started my physical therapy company that services handicapped individuals. my first patient was a individual named Arnaldo P. He was 34 at the time and had cerebral palsy since he was born. He was fed by a tube and couldnt talk due to a traecheotomy. Due to the cerebral palsy, Arnaldo's legs were severely deformed and due to this he was unable to walk and was confined to a bed for about 14 years. I began treating Arnaldo twice every week. Over time I began to develop a strong relationship with Arnaldo's parents and Arnaldo himself. Even though he couldnt talk, I soon understood everything he was trying to say by facial expresions and gestures. Arnaldo had a wheelchair, but, the problem was that his elderly parents were unable to physically get him into the chair..so..the only time that Arnaldo could escape his bedroom was the two times a week that i would come over. In fact, if you ever drove on flagler street around 3pm on tues and thursdays, you may have seen me pushing Arnaldo around. As i was getting ready to go to Arnaldo's house on tuesday, i received a phone call from Arnaldo's dad saying that Arnaldo had passed away the night before. It really left me in a state of shock I can only imagine how devastated his parents are. They have been caring for Arnaldo for the last 37 years. He had been thier life. I went to the house on tuesday and it was so wierd to go into Arnaldo's room and have him not be in there. One thing that i will never forget were all the times that i would come over to his house, usually caught up in whatever bullshit my day had given me and there was Arnaldo, 37 years old, a hole in his throat, a hole in his belly, unable to walk or talk, basically a prisoner..................with a huge ass smile on his face--happy as hell to see me. please keep Arnaldo and his family in your prayers.

  14. im a true yankee fan..ive supported them my entire life. they played like shit and the marlins were awesome. I was the first on the board to congratulate the marlins on thier victory. thats called sportsmanship ( a close companion to class) - winning and losing with grace. sportsmanship seems to be all but lost on the cp message board:(
  15. bottom line..the marlins played great. they stopped the yankees at every turn. the yankees deserved to lose. i just cancelled my jetblue flight to game seven.
  16. ever here of winning and losing with class?? typical miami.
  17. the marlins played a great world series...and a awesome performance by becket in game 6.
  18. the regular dekan was there but there was also a evil version in a black shirt running around..i think i saw him dancing with the lady in the girl scout uniform...(wtf?)
