I think he's talking about Hip Hop and Tiesto does not play Hip Hop. Now as for whoever he claimed as being the #1 DJ in Vegas or anywhere for that matter, just because he plays Hip Hop makes him not the #1 DJ in my book. Vegas probably now sucks just because everywhere you go, that's all you fuckin hear. Blah!!

Why is it that VC is holing himself as strictly a Tribal sounding DJ? It seems that's all he plays judging from these reviews. I haven't heard him since he was at Roxy so I can't really say. However, I know I'd get a huge headache of only Tribal for three or more hours.

All this seems very ravish. I mean I do attend the Battery Park EDM events, but that's about it. Something about dancing outside and being in tents makes me feel like a raver all over again. If I'm going to get my groove on, I think I'd rather be in a nice & classy (if there is one anymore)club.
I'd feel way too old and out of place at these Ultra events I think. Maybe in Miami it might feel a little more normal.
I don't know...just my two cents.

It seems that Deko Lounge has finally put NJ back on the map for real House Music people who wish NJ had a more NY vibe club. Although I haven't been there yet (I think), it seems they're pulling out the big guns like Calderone to pack the place.
Who here has been to Deko? What do you think of the place overall? Is it impossible to get a gig there because they're booking big names even on a off-night?

Isn't Van Helden a pretty ghetto guy? So, if the people there are actually his fans, they were probably trying to emulate their hero which is how Armand dresses. I never heard him live but I do like some of his releases.
That is funny though, basing your good time or lack of on how people dressed and danced. Last I checked, there was never a class offered on proper club etiquette. Maybe someone could start one up.
BTW, since we're on crowds, what's the best crowd you ever liked-past or present? Mine would have to be JV's crowd when he was at the Palladium (Arena). The reason why was because it was mixed but more on the gay side. However, the women that were allowed in were absolute knockouts. And, they were a lot easier to approach because nobody in there groped them. God damn I miss that era!

What the fuck is 50 bucks going to do? That won't even fill up my tank w/gas? You've got to be the cheapest motherfucker around. Are you expecting people to take you seriously for that kind of money. How bout at least $500 dollars and free admission to your events, a DJ residency, AND OPEN BAR ALL night for the duration of the club? Then maybe I'd think about it.

I feel ya Muni. I have a residency at a bar in NY state, and the owner wants it to be a house night. But some people have no knowledge of music and no open minds. I too run into the same problem you had last Friday, I start out with house and dance and always end up switching over to rap and rock and roll, because thats what makes these people happy. Its almost as if all the people that want to hear house music head to clubs and lounges, and when it comes to college bars and places like celebs they just want to hear rap. They wouldnt know a good house set if they heard one.
It stinks doesn't it bro'?

After that good review, I'm down to support Jr. once again despite all the bad press he's been receiving. I was a huge supporter of him during his Tunnel and Arena & even Twilo days but I fell out of love with him after that. Heard him once at Earth & once at Disco and was not impressed one bit. But, if he has a residency at Avalon, I might have to check him out. Thanks again for the cool review!
