  1. My demands have been met...I shall cancel my planned rally in protest of MTV nominating hip hop acts in the dance catagory ! Knock 'em dead dude and congrats.
  2. Congrats Andrew, Good to see you...thanks for reminding us all why we do this in the first place; good people having a good time dancing to great beats. As I had just finished up a gig I showed up kinda late. Hope to be able to chat longer next time and throw down a wicked set for ya. peace, Armand

  8. NOW HEAR THIS...Time to walk the walk...you fockers need to show up and really support this Friday...I'm tired of hearing everyone one say they are going to hear Stryke only to find myself and Raymond the only ones in attendance...AGAIN. Unfortunately I'll be spinning elsewhere that evening Hopefully I can make a cameo appearance at the end of the night. See ya'll there !
  9. A certain Mr. Chin may indeed make an appearance at your local techno watering hole...watch this space I'll keep you all posted as soon as it's confirmed...
  10. Read my post again Saleen. In no way was I referring to the Fire Marshals. I was referring to another incident which in the interest of keeping this post drama free I chose not to specify. You just assumed that. Which as usually happens when you assume things makes an ass out of you...well you know the rest.

  12. Nice review Koky, Picotto is the MAN ! Ripped the place apart. Like Koky said he did suddenly shift gears at one point , not playing house but rather taking it down a couple of notches in order to give people a break. Absolutely the right thing to do considering how ram packed it was. At around two I requested that my set be cut short and for the music downstairs be piped into my room. The aleviated the pressure from the main room and hopefully got more people into the club. Big thanks to Sage for helping me out on the decks las night. You rock girlfriend ! Big thanks to the Privilege crew for making this happen. What a great way to cap off an already spectacular WMC for them. Oh , and a big FUCK YOU goes out to all the Miami Beach politicians, undercover cops and generally any other beauracratic jerk off who makes it very difficult to conduct a nightclub operation here. You need to remember this: It is the nightclub/lounge/restaurant business that made South Beach the international destination that it is. Don't forget who you really work for; THE AMERICAN TAX PAYING PUBLIC ! We are showing signs of a strong comeback so please don't kill the geese that lay golden eggs all over this place ! Enough ranting...Carry on.
  13. Hey All, On behalf of the Grooveman Music team I would like to thank all our friends and customers who came together this year to make this the best conference we've ever had. Anyone who had a chance to drop by the store saw the chaos that went on; superstar dj's alongside local favorites picking up the latest & greatest. 14 hour work days nearly killed me but it all worth it to see our dance community come together. Much respect to all the producers who put out quality music this year. After a month long break to prepare for conference I'm very pleased to say I'll be back behind the decks tonight playing the upstairs area at Privilege. No doubt you've attended or heard about all the amazing parties that went on there this conference. Here is a rare chance to catch a big room techno Dj like Picotto in an intimate setting. For those that need to take a break I'll be throwing down some tribal, tech house & breaks upstairs. All brand new & promo stuff. You've been warned ! See ya there

  17. The Privilege website has just posted this years line up. Hope to see you all there ! http://www.privilegeclubmiami.com/site.html
  18. Just to set things straight...The Groove is what it is...It's a familiar crowd who wan't to hear a familiar sound and that's fine. I've already played there twice on Friday nights to crowds of well over 400 people...that's with no advertising, promotion, lighting rig and a temporary sound system So i won't be breaking in any new 12"s there but the numbers speak for themselves.
  19. I got you covered Ramon...Copy waiting for you at Grooveman... Sorted...
  20. Hello friends, Thanks for your support, we will strive to keep the ball rolling in 2004. For the Resident Sessions I will probably open th evening from 10 to about 2am then Beto takes over...He has been very impressive as of late, he seens to have found his groove. Musically we like to play a little of everything but really the nights' direction will be dictated by the crowd. Don't be afraid to come up, say hi and tell us what you want to hear! Also since no one posted a Dimas review...a damn fine night it was! Started out with some funky house, carefully building up the set, eventually taking the crowd into darker waters and dropping some massive promos from his label Beatfreak. Highlight was his tribal progressive remix of As The Rush Comes...breaks down into the chorus, no vocal, then comes back as a storming tribal workout...destroyed the dancefloor. As The Rush Comes indeed! Can't wait for his return for WMC 04.
  21. Great suggestions guys...a few of those people mentioned may be making pitstops through here in the near future Thanks for the props Eric , hopefully we can get a locals night going...you're at the top of the list man. As for the Stryke situation, without going into details that don't need to be discussed, I will offer this; No one has worked harder to try to bring techno to the masses here in Miami than Greg has. He is a personal inspiration and is loved & respected by clubbers & industry people alike. I've seen him play his heart out from anywhere to a packed superclub to a handful of people in a lounge somewhere. It is disheartening to hear how much praise he gets on these forums only to see the same few people actually show up to his gigs. The ball is in your court people. As many of you know has has a major residency coming up. Don't just talk about supporting him. DO IT.
  22. Babby Hirthday...Oops sorry still hungover all the best !
