  1. Wow, what a night...last night gave me hope for the future of Miami's music scene. Thanks to Marco & Danilo for showing us how it's done. Eric , you are right on target in your assessment. Their set appealed to everyone across the board; minimal enough for the househeads but just enough punch to keep the techno people happy. I'd personally like to thank all of you who have made it out so far to the parties. You have made Privilege the success story of 2003 and have proven the naysayers wrong week after week. The next few weeks will see some solid lineups that will lead up to a conference you won't soon forget. I'll keep you posted. Happy New Year's those who know...go those who don't...won't
  2. Hey all, Make sure you check out Eric in 2004...definitely one of the ones to to watch out for. His cd has a permanent slot in my CD changer. Unique, versatile, and no self inposed boundaries, the man just plays good music. Looking forward to playing alongside him again in the future. Enjoy your holidays Eric.
  3. Thanks Oscar for saying what we have all felt for a long time...the mind numbing stupidity that gets posted here sometimes is tiresome & boring. All those elitists who thing one genre of music is better than another are missing the point. Every genre has good content that will always rise to the top, and trying to determine which is better is an exercise in futility. As a music buyer for grooveman I have to listen to hundreds of tracks a week in all genres and am amazed that every week I hear something, be it jungle, trance, house, etc that makes my hairs stand up on end. What the bashers don't realise is how much they hurt the scene. Dance Music, for lack of a better word, only makes up 5% of the US Market ! THis is NOT the case in Europe, where dance tracks are regularly in the Top Ten. I thank God we have guys like Oscar, Stryke, and many other extremely talented people who never have a negative thing to say and who have such a love & passion for what they do. We should all be so lucky to have jobs like that! So guys keep doing what you do, you have something those bashers will never have -SELF RESPECT. Labels are for soup cans. peace. Armando
  4. This is gonna be monstrous...had the pleasure of playing with him las year at Lola. Remember Raymond ? what a "crowd" eh ? Call me or come by the shop if any of you need passes for those asses. peace:D
  5. My work here is done... Thanks for the lively debate guys. As I said before the clubber ultimately wins when we have quality venues to attend. Dade, thanks for coming on here and clearing thigs up a little. Constuctive criticism is always more helpful than harmful. That being said I hope we all do well this season and strive to bring our customers the best quality product that we can offer. We all know that this business can be as much about marketing as it is about music. And Sal, please don't ever stop posting...your level of ignorance & arrogance is astounding to say the least... Seriously speaking, you are the perfect Devil's Advocate for this forum...keep up the good work !
  6. Having successfully operated nightclubs in South America for many years, I think the ownership of privilege know a thing or two about this business and how to run it. Every available venue was considered before choosing this one, since it really is the right venue for the style and atmosphere they wanted to create. I am confident they have the drive and determination to make this work. Ultimately, it is the clubber who benefits from having such a diverse choice of music venues to go to every weekend. And speaking of doing your homework...why all the negativity Dade? Perhaps you should dedicate more of your time & effort to your own cause. I wish you the best of luck competing against the massive marketing machine that is Space...your going to need it.
  7. Hope you all had a good thanksgiving...and your desert will be served tonight courtesty of Mr. John Acquaviva. For those of you who haven't checked out the club yet because techno isn't your cup of tea here your chance to see a true master in action. Don't forget there is no cover before 12am so you have no excuses. Hope to see you all there !
