This week was another successful week at MOZ Bistro & Lounge in Hollywood. Special thanks to all the DJ's who dropped in. This week while waiting for the event to officially start we decided to get people on the decks a little earlier. Deep Frequency opened with some melodic DnB, followed by DJ Mick with a dark progressive set. Deep Frequency hopped back on once things got going with breaks, DJ Solace dropped in some nice clean trance, followed by DJ Buck with some good tech-trance. Dagger threw down some electro before DJ Octavius took over with hardstyle. We'll be back at it next week. Good music and great drink specials. DJs may arrive as early as 8pm to register for the open slots. We're also throwing down at Sonar July 10th, so keep an eye open for that night. Darin

I know a couple of you wanted to know when a hardstyle dj was playing out.. this week for our open decks thing in hollywood the closing act is going to be hardstyle.. we have 4 open slots in the middle and the closer is set each week.. so if ya wanna check it out.. he'll be going on at 1:30am or so. dj octavius.. if ya wanna come earlier theyre having 2 for 1 wells from 7-10 and $2 tequila shots throughout the night.. it went really well.. no we dont have any cd players for the time being. We had Barry Bennett and Deep Frequency open up the night with some breaks, then DJ Mick took over and played some really nice progressive to get the crowd loosened up. After that Disc Jockey Joey dropped in some techno, followed by DJ Obsession mixing in the hard house. We finished out with some electro and breaks provided by Don-L and Dagger. The first few weeks is strictly open decks- no competition. If all goes well in June (so far so good) we will turn it into 8 week competitions with brackets and all. There were several people who showed up to spin, but unfortunately we couldn't fit everyone in. It was nice that they stuck around regardless to listen though. If you'd like to spin next week, the slots did fill very quickly and will fill even earlier next week. You can arrive as early as 7:30 to reserve your spot. The kitchen will be open next week, so come by early, relax, grab a drink or some grub and hang out. We'll be having 2 for 1 wells from 7-10pm and $2 tequila shots throughout the night. They've only been open a month- used to be called One Night Stand, but it's new owners now. Every Wednesday there will be 4 or 5 slots. They'll be given out first come first serve at the venue. State is a beautiful new nightlife destination in South Beach featuring the best aspect of a large dance club and a comfortable lounge. The Saturday residents are DJ Pierre Zonzon in the Gold Room upstairs playing European House, World Beats, & Dance Classics. Downstairs in the Main Room is DJ Carlos Soulman spinning Sexy Hip Hop and R&B. And they often have special events on Saturdays. It is a fun mix of popular music and sexy people. Saturdays start at 10pm and the list closes promptly at midnight, so do not be late! The dress code is not very strict but don’t dress like a slob or a thug and you’ll be fine. 21+, of course, since it is on the beach. im from vegas and caught this on a hometown message board.. oops LUXOR NIGHTCLUB EMPLOYEE DJ faces tax evasion, identity theft charges A Luxor nightclub disc jockey was indicted Tuesday on identity theft and tax evasion charges. Duane King, 38, of Las Vegas faces three counts of identify theft, three counts of tax evasion, two counts of unauthorized use of a credit card, two counts of use of a Social Security number assigned to another, and two counts of making a false statement during a firearms purchase. According to the Luxor's Web site, King has been resident DJ at the hotel's RA nightclub since March 1998. According to a statement from the U.S. attorney's office in Las Vegas, King was arrested April 28 at his home. Agents executed a search warrant at the residence, where they seized the Mercedes and a sport utility vehicle. King, who remains in custody, is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on May 14 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert Johnston.
