In addition to MNS (Monday Night Social) at Las Palmas, there is also a good party at the Standard Rooftop (downtown LA). As far as the South Bay is concerned, you're probably f***ed on Monday.

Hmmm....I'm surprised at the apparent lack of interest in this event on this posting area. Maybe the CP crowd is unaware of this talent: JOPLIN is quickly becoming one of LA's top Diva House DJs. Her take no prisoners Funky House style has earned her a meteoric rise in the DJ ranks, very recently landing her a spot on the KROQ afterhours Power Mix. JOSE MARQUEZ is, next to Marques Wyatt's Deep, the prime provider of deep soulful uplifting house. His afterhours Friday club BELIEVE has everyone in Los Angeles talkin'...and Believin!! So instead of lamenting the state of House Music in Los Angeles, why don't y'all come out and support these two young aspiring DJs, who still mix on decks instead of the crap Sasha is doing right now (sorry, but hey let's face the facts...those big name DJs are not doing squat that's interesting right now).... Maybe it's just my imagination, but the bass sounds a lot deeper when it comes out of vinyl grooves. Sorry, I'm a purist about DJing. As to the stores closing up, it's pretty sad, but I think WAX contributed to its own downfall when it's record selections became so dreadful. I mean every DJ I spoke to in the last 2 years have said the same thing: "are they hiding the good records". Shopping on line is fine but there's no guarrantee of success there either. Look at what happened to groovetech.com. Plus Ameoba is having its own effect So please y'all, support the remaining records stores.
