    New Anthem!!!

    http://www.request-a-song.com/songs/ras_autodown.asp?songnumber=188 It's called Janet Jackson's BOOB!
  2. They do a mean singles circuit down here... is that pic taken from the recent "speed" dating night in downtown Ft. Lauderdale??!
  3. Most "Superclubs" as you put it, are in MAJOR cities... Ft. Lauderdale is the powerboat capital of the world, no place for a Superclub. j/k Plus all the club-owners have NO balls to book any talent except the occasional booking of Oscar or Edgar at Voodoo, and that is only recently. Any other time a dj with ANY clout has come to Lauderdale, it's because a promoter dished out his own dough and took the chance him/herself. They are too afraid to go against the grain of the VERY commercial locals. It's not a build-it and they will come problem, it's build a nice venue with a friendly staff that can serve drinks and take some chances musically and try something new.. .maybe alittle a time, but at least try! And I can guarantee that even if there was a "Superclub" buil for Lotto, even the locals would rather go to Miami because most of the youngens that support the Super Talent find it "cooler" to say there going to Miami rather than supporting their own local scene!
  4. First, I contemplated even going at all due to the SHITTY weather, but was promised by sheldon and vaughan that these guys were worth the drive. After tredging through the rain, I got there a bit late to catch some of Lyriks(sp?) set. Weren't many people there but Lyrik was playing a perfect sound for that time and crowd. Then the other guy, John?, went on and was really digging his sound too. I decided the night would be pretty good despite the lack of audience... good music goes a long way! And then the night took a turn for the worse... someguy (guessing the owner from the prev. posts), but dude....Why??? Sorry, I don't mean to knock him, his mixing was pretty good, but if you guys are going to do a deep-house night then at least stick with the program and let your guests do their job. I won't mention names but I've heard the owner has had problems with a couple other people and this wasn't the first time! Best of luck to the lust guys, b-side and matt spector, I hope that doesn't happen all the time!
  5. I don't know anything about Norah's camp... but I think the Chris Lum thing (according the flyer posted) is Feb. 28th
  6. Now, now PODster... I know you photogs gotta stick together, but I clearly said I wasn't knocking his efforts AT ALL... just asking what causes that; that's what all my pics look like too... I'm no "shooter" either! I've just seen some of your pics and they are taken in a club too but they're not blurry... It was almost like as if I was asking for advice... my bad! Thanks Mr. Shooter!
  7. What's wrong with the pics; they're all blurry. Almost looks like someone tried to get creative. Not knocking the effort but unless you were the one taking pictures, it all looks like art instead of documenting a good night. Would of been nice to have some clear shots of Morillo! Site looks pretty cool... what's your angle?
  8. WOW!!! What a great night... It was about the same size crowd as last saturday for Mark Grant... good looking ladies everywhere! I got there for the end of Sean Weeks and Nanez(?)'s set and was VERY, VERY impressed... FUNKY AS ALL HELL! Then what can I say 'bout LEgo that hasn't already been said; as Bling says... LEGO OWNNNNNNNNZZZZZZZ! He had the whole place facing the booth cheering and whistling for his WHOLE set! I was floored... energy was THICK! See you guys next week for Lyrik and J.C.! Sheldon & Vaughn are two of the best hosts, especially since I just moved here. Cecil, nice hanging with you too; thanks for the Corona! Thanks again for all you househeads at the past couple parties for making me feel like part of the family!
  9. Present! Swinging by Lego @ Opium then to hear my man Julius.. and then Back to Opium!
  10. (CNN) -- Television's Captain Kangaroo, Bob Keeshan, died Friday morning in Vermont, a family friend told CNN. He was 76. He died after a long illness, his family told The Associated Press. "Captain Kangaroo," a children's show, featured the walrus-mustached, bowl-haircut Keeshan entertaining youngsters with his gentle, whimsical humor. Among the show's other characters were the puppets Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Moose, as well as Dancing Bear and the laconic Mr. Green Jeans (Hugh Brannum). The show ran on CBS from 1955 to 1985, and then moved to public television for six more years. The show won six Emmys and three Peabody Awards. The format was simplicity itself: Keeshan would wander through the Treasure House, wearing his distinctive big-pocketed coat, and talk with Brannum and the puppets. He'd meet with guests, tell stories, and generally entertain. Shows were frequently interrupted with silliness, such as hundreds of ping-pong balls dropping from the ceiling or Mr. Moose's knock-knock jokes. But the mainstay was the grandfatherly Keeshan. "I was impressed with the potential positive relationship between grandparents and grandchildren, so I chose an elderly character," Keeshan said, according to the AP. In a statement issued by his son Michael, Keeshan's family said: "Our father, grandfather and friend was as passionate for his family as he was for America's children. He was largely a private man living an often public life as an advocate for all that our nation's children deserve." "Captain Kangaroo" aired in the early mornings on CBS until 1985, when the network canceled the show to expand its morning news program. Keeshan was named Broadcaster of the Year in 1979 by the International Radio and Television Society and was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 1998. He also spent five years as the silent Clarabell the Clown on "The Howdy Doody Show." Keeshan was closely involved with health and child-care issues, serving on several boards and working to provide child care to the children of large corporations. When Fred Rogers, the gentle host of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood," died last year, Keeshan recalled how they often spoke about the state of children's programming, according to the AP. "I don't think it's any secret that Fred and I were not very happy with the way children's television had gone," Keeshan said. Born in 1927 in suburban Long Island, the future Captain Kangaroo grew up in Forest Hills, New York, and was an NBC page for his last year of high school during World War II. He joined the Marines after graduation. He returned to his page job after his discharge from the Marines, and attended Fordham University. Keeshan is survived by three children and six grandchildren. The people there are really cool and just want a good crowd there... I'm sure you can even rock some stylish sneakers too as long as the rest is in check! I'll definitely getto finally meet everyone!
