My point is that some people bitch out for bullshit. Like Piazza does every year, like Giambi did. A-Rod ( Injury ) and like Griffey does as always. He had his valid points... He does not play with the same head as alot of these stars play with. He is more for the game. You see it in him when he is at bat and when he is in the field. And in interviews...
First of all Giambi was more than happy to do it. It was the Yankees who didn't want him to wear himself out coming back from the parasite thing so they made a compromise. I don't know what the situation was with A-Rod so I won't talk about that. The reason Piazza "bitches out" every year is because he just plain sucks at this contest. He did it for 2 years and had like 1 home run total. Griffey has a torn hamstring. It's a legitimate injury... It sucks but he's just a fragile player. As for Matsui, I understand his reasons for not doing it but he has more HR's than some of the players that were in the contest. So he was a valid choice. He may not be known as a huge power threat here but he is legendary in Japan and will probably wind up with 30-35 this year...

go to altavista.com you can translate it
Altavista doesn't work so well with translations...

Matsui did not pussy out... He had a valid point. He did not think he deserved to be in the Derby... Neither do I... In america he is really not known as a homerun king, or power hitter... Yeah he has hit 16 or 17 this season... But he really does not have that swing. Maybe I am wrond. But he expressed valid points.
Tejada isn't a home run king either and he won it all.... Besides how many home runs you hit has no bearing on how well you'll do in this competition. Otherwise Bonds would win every year...

A couple of years ago I went out with this girl... We went out to eat, then we shot some pool for a little bit, and went to a cafe for a nightcap. The whole time I felt everything was going smoothly. The vibe was right, conversation came easy and I could tell she was feelin' me as well. Usually I don't ask girls to come home with me on the first date but things were going so well that I was seriously considering it.... So after going back & forth with it for 2 hours I finally decided to just ask. She liked the idea so that's what we did... The next 2-3 hours I had some of the best sex ever. Everything was perfect. So after it was all said & done she starts to put on her clothes and that's when I heard those dreaded words.....
"That will be $500...."

liability????
c'mon guy
He's a liability in the field because he's not 100% healthy yet.
When he's 100% healthy he's fine. Right now he isn't 100%.

dood u are wrong again.....the only reason nomar acted the way he did in ny was cause he wants out of boston.....nomar would prob also be willing to resign with the cubs if he were to go there.....but being a yankee fan hopefully all this shit hits rock bottom like every other deal the sox have tried to make (arod)......also the cubs have been more interedsted in orlando cabrera since they wont have to give up as much..in terms of their prospects
It doesn't matter why he acted the way he did. He may not like the way he was treated (and I can't say I blame him) but what kind of message does that send to the rest of the team?? Boston was fighting for their life at the time in one of the best regular season games ever and thats how you show support?? Fuck, they put Manny on waivers and he responds with one of his best seasons. He's even offered to defer some of his salary to help resign Pedro. Trust me, that shot of Nomar sulking while the rest of his team is standing in the dugout will be one of his defining moments in Boston.... What's to say that what happened in Boston won't happen wherever he may end up. None of this matters anyway because he isn't fully healed yet. Right now he's a liability at shortstop so the Cubs can't even use him because he can't DH...
-
you're completely wrong about the salary thing
giving up Nomar frees up plenty of cash and this is a one year solution, not a long term commitment
Yeah but the Cubs are not going to give up all those prospects just to rent Nomar for a couple of months. Nomar's been in decline for a little while now. After that shit he pulled in NY his trade value is rock bottom...

I will... Thanks for the invite!

I have to disagree... It was stated perfect last night... Yanks donot have many prospects left that would be worthy of that kind of trade... I see the UNIT going to Boston more likely than anything...
But who knows. He seems to always pull something out of the wood works... In my eyes. I hope that if the Yanks can pull something together that they do not deal away Halsey... I would rather a young up and coming pitcher than a 40 year old pitcher... We can win without the UNIT and I think the future is just as important as today.
Good luck to Boston... If he gets dealt to Boston it will be one hell of a post season...
Hoping the Yanks Pitching staff can get healthy and stay healthy...
The Sox can't take on Johnson's salary. To make that work Arizona would have to eat some of that contract which they won't / can't. The Yankees do this all the time. Last year they blocked the Red Sox from getting Freddie Garcia. Also a couple of years ago they picked up Canseco just so the Sox wouldn't get him. Cashman is the master of this...

This is where the value of coming in at 10 comes into play. I'd feel bad for you if you had to be in at 8....
Jeter is one hell of a competitor!
