  1. The door price isn't set until the night of the event. Sometimes it is $10 more than the pre sale, but that isn't a hard and fast rule. And folks, just my personal opinion here, but why hate on the 18-20 crowd? I'll be honest, we've only had 3 18+ nights so far and each one has been an incredible crowd and great response. As well as zero problems with those under 18 who all seemed to have come to dance their hearts out.
  2. We have Carl Cox here at crobar. There's a banner here on CP mentioning it. And you can click my sig for tix.
  3. Thanks for catching that. It now says March 4th same as the flyer.

  5. One of the tried and true laws of beverage service...you just can NOT f*ck with Beer. Lite beer is about as far as it will go. Mixed drinks however can go everywhere, they're like fashions, they come and go with the seasons. I guess the beer folks are trying to catch a ride on the energy drink phenomenon. From what I have seen, Red Bull and other energy drinks make the majority of their profit from the nightlife industry, moreso overseas than here in the US.
  6. Yes, P Diddy and some others will be performing live, and will be sitting next to the special DJ booth being set up on the dancefloor.
  7. If you still need help, you can PM me, I'm crobar's IT Admin.
  8. Do you also hope his purpose in life will be to kill his mother? Although he did throw those sexy parties...
  9. Speaking as a New Yorker and not a crobar employee, I think that the entire idea of this stinks to high heaven. I have heard about Bloomberg wanting changes to the noise code and it just sickens me considering the ban on smoking indoors. I would have to say that at least half of the complaints must be from people who live near bars or clubs. You force the people to go outside to smoke. Most of these people have been drinking. And you expect them to just stand there outside and be quiet?? If they just reversed the ban on smoking in bars and nightclubs the noise problem would solve itself. It's not like people have been getting louder, they have just been forced outside where they can become a problem for residents. And it's just sad to me. Nightlife is one of the most vibrant parts of the NYC economy. And it doesn't just help the owners of those establishments, it's also a major source of taxi revenue. Thankfully most NYC people are intelligent enough not to drink and drive, so they take taxis to and from most night spots. Between the smoking ban, this noise BS and the constant rumors of a change in the required closing time for bars and clubs, the city is just giving the message that they don't want these places open. It also galls me that the defense is that they want to increase the "quality of life" for residents. I can't see there being much quality in a lot of people's lives if they are forced to stay home at night. And I have seen plans like this backfire first hand. When I was in college the residents of the town got the city to have all bars close at 1am instead of 3am. So instead of people leaving the bars to go back to campus in several groups between 1am and 3am, everybody left at 1am. This caused an even bigger noise problem and the city had to change it back to 3am. I just hope the city wises up to the consequences of passing laws like these.
  10. Only bump I am giving this. I just want to make it clear that on Monday the price will be going up to $30.00.
  11. Hey CP folks. As part of our celebration of Sasha's new Residency at crobar, we're offering a special price of $20.00 for those who purchase tickets between now and Monday morning. After that the price will go up. This is a special 18 to enter 21 to drink event. Click the flyer below to go to the ticket page.
  12. While I agree our armed forces and their families do deserve better. I take issue with him drawing a parrallel to the victims of Sept. 11th. They are non-comparable, one group are civillians, the other military. And while any death of an american citizen is tragic, soldiers know they are going to be someplace their life will be in danger. The people in the twin towers didn't go to work everyday prepared for jets crashing into the buildings. So yes, our government should be doing something about taking care of the families of those soldiers who give their lives. Of course then you can get into the fact that over 200 years since the founding of America our enlisted military is still over 90% comprised of young men and women that come from the poorest families in the country, yet those who make the decisions about their welfare make up the top 10%. But this is a clubbing message board and I won't get into it. Oh and I take serious issue with Rush Limbaugh saying "Our Sons and Daughters" exactly how many of his family or even close friends are enlisted in the armed forces and serving in a forward position like Iraq or Afghanistan??
  13. We've had "That Kid Chris" here before. He Opened for Victor Calderone on June 26th 2004 for Gay Pride weekend.

  16. That's it disk-ofreak. BANNED from Crobar for ruining the joke. But seriously, if its on the crobar.com website, then it better be for real because the guy that updates it sits right behind me.
  17. That's actually not true. The bigtime DJs take themselves very seriously and are very particular about every aspect of where they play and how they are taken care of. Its almost comparable to a big time actor/actress they have standards that money won't change (at least while they are on top) And yes, big DJs make big money. But I can't tell you details.
  18. If you're coming before 1AM train, no doubt about that. There's also an R station not far from the west side on 28th and broadway. After 1 AM then you can probably drive. But why bother, NYE is one of the nights when having to worry about a car kills the whole thing.
  19. Lived in Brooklyn my whole life. Manhattan Beach and then Bay Ridge. It's not as crazy as the city (only NYC people call manhattan "the city" ever notice that?) but lots of fun to grow up in. Lots of parks in brooklyn and real neighborhoods to grow up in with houses and yards. Just as culturally diverse as Manhattan with neighborhoods full of every culture in the world. Awesome places to eat, awesome places to drink, not as many good places to dance though. Crime? If you live here you know where to go and where to not go. And places that were unsafe 10 years ago now have $1600 a month rents and $500,000 houses. The whole gangsta thing is an image, and an image from people who grew up here in the 80s. Its amazing how so many of the hardcore rappers managed to live to sell records, if half the stuff they rap about were true they would have been killed at least 10 times over each. And untill about 100 years ago, Brooklyn was considered a stand alone city. It was then made a borough. Also realize that in almost all of the rest of the country, cities are smaller (population wise) than even a neighborhood in brooklyn. I remember when I went to college in Oneonta, it is called a city yet had a population of like 2000 people and was smaller in size than midwood.
  20. Just gonna put this here instead of making a new post. We have extended the open bar till 1 AM and added the rest of the info for the other rooms. Here's the teaser flyer.
  21. Oh and the set time may be a little off. I'm almost positive that Junior will be going on at 5. 6AM is the normal end time for most DJs so it may have gotten on there due to it being the standard. If I'm wrong I'll be sure to let you all know.
  22. Yep, stay as long as you want. We have a seperate ticket for people just going to see Junior.
