  1. Pretty simple setup. Junior will be spinning afterhours from 5-12 its a different event and different ticket.
  2. Fell for it too. Gave me a good chuckle after a long Friday.
  3. LOL, why would I ban you? Sander even mentioned you from one of his shows "Crazy guy, was there from when I started to when I finished, right next to me". You also write some damn good reviews and I do read them. Same as everybody. I read almost every post made here in the NY forum, though I won't respond to most for various reasons. And as for the KTU thing, hey, I was giving two polar opposites of what a club can deliver. I don't see us scraping the bottom of the barrel and "having the place packed with 18 year olds" anytime in the foreseeable future. Long and the short of it is, we live in NYC and have pretty much the biggest array of choices you could ask for when it comes to going out. So hey, go have fun wherever you want, and if you come by crobar on NYE, ask a security guard for me, I'll be happy to say hi.
  4. Just posting the facts and a couple of my opinions. Silverbull, hey man, I read the boards 3-4 times a day, I read a lot of what you post so I can totally see where you are coming from. You're all about the music, and that's cool. From what I have read from you, a DJ you like could be playing in an empty barn and as long as you have room to dance and the sound system rocks you're happy. To each his or her own and I can totally respect that. Other people are more interested in the general vibe and party and they don't care if its some KTU DJ from the graveyard shift playing as long as the space is big, there are lots of people, and plenty of drinks And then there are the people in between. We're a large space, we try to cater to every form/type of club goer out there. Just look at the events from the past year. Expect more info about our after midnight prices as they are made available to me. When I know, you'll all know.
  5. Hey guys. Just a little fyi for you all. The open bar is a premium open bar from 8:30 PM till 12 Midnight. While other parties are offering low prices, they are not offering open bar, or better than well drinks open bar. Ikon for example has a good price and PVD, but its a cash bar. Secondly, in the next week or so we will be offering tickets for those that want to come after midnight. These will be less expensive than the pre-midnight tix. Look, you all are well aware of how things are in the club scene. NYE is basically the biggest party of the year. Believe me, there is a reason prices are what they are. Also think about the general NYE vibe. Its not a DJ night really. Sure, having a top 10 DJ is great and all, but for New Years to me at least, its about my friends/family and having the craziest time I can have. It doesn't really matter who is spinning, its the party the place puts together that matters.
  6. I'm happy to announce our New Years Eve lineup for 2004-2005 I promise you all, it will be a great event. Tickets on Sale now online. Celebrité: Where Everyone’s a Star!!! Start your New Year off right with our resident star DJ David Waxman and the decadence of Los Angeles in the 80’s. Dance amongst the “likes†of Cher, Burt Reynolds, Joan Collins, Michael Jackson, the Two Coreys, Madonna and even Pee Wee too! In the Main Room we’ll glam it up LA style for the New Year with all the decadence of that sinful decade! If you’re feeling a little seedier, stop by the Sunset Strip in the Reed Room with all your favorite hookers, johns, and Madonna-esque strip tease booths. If you’re lucky, you’ll get invited to the “studio back lot†in the Prop Room where all the stars will be. Think you’re really famous? Then party like a Rockstar at our after-hours event starting at 4am with resident DJ Boris. So, tease you’re hair up, pop your Lacoste collar and hop over to crobar in your red Ferrari. For 24 hours at crobar, we’ll all be stars!!! Ticket Price Includes open bar from 8:30PM-Midnight including a champagne toast. Buy Crobar New Years Eve Tickets
  7. Hey CPers. I have a partial December line up for you all, its partial because a few dates are still not ready for release, most notably New Years Eve. Don't worry, that will be up by the end of the week. So click the link in my sig for the ticket page and description of all the events.
  8. Hey all. I just want to suggest you guys buy tickets before hand. It looks like this is going to be a big turnout and I don't want to see anyone out in the cold or pissed off about not getting in. Tickets are also cheaper than the full price will be at the door, even with the service charge. Its just a suggestion, do what you like. I don't make any money off them, I'm just the IT admin, not a promoter. Hope you all have a kickass thanksgiving weekend. I'll have the December lineup posted up for sale next week as well as flyers posted here.
  9. Don't know where you got your information but the age limit is 21+ including for this event.
  10. Hey guys. Glad so many of you had a good time at Sander's show. I just want to take a minute and address the folks that had problems. Contrary to what you may think, we really do care about you guys. There is no club without customers and we don't take mistreatment of our patrons lightly. Now, granted, there is a door policy and it is pretty subjective, I am not going to second guess our door people. What I do want to let you know is that if someone at the door did treat you in an unprofessional manner, we want to hear about it. Feel free to PM me with any concerns you may have and I'll see that the proper people are made aware of it. I can't promise anything, except that I will read them. You guys make the club. Not the door people, not the DJs, the customers.
  11. Junior has been a guest twice for our Thursday night Disgraceland party. He may come back again since he seems to have a good time. The usual DJs are Larry T and Jon Jon Battles. There are also many guest DJs that come in to spin. You can click the link in my sig to see details for each week, or buy tickets.
  12. If you're interested in bottle service you can contact our Table host Kelly at 917-339-1825 or by email at khulbert@crobar.com she can explain the minimums and table availabilities for where you'd like to sit. Below, is my totally unofficial opinion on bottle service: Its really a matter of what you want to spend money on. If people didn't want it, and weren't willing to pay for it, it wouldn't exist. Bad ideas usually fail, bottle service is flourishing and I really can't think of a major NYC club that doesn't offer it. Hell even when I was a teenager getting into Palladium with a fake ID they had bottle service. And it was just as expensive. Also, drink prices were like $8 for a mixed drink and maybe $6 for a beer. Door charge was on average $20 full $15 reduced. These are 1992 prices. More than 10 years later and there is not much of a change. You guys are all intelligent people, and can make your own informed decisions. Just go out and have fun. There are choices in NYC for everyone, from free parties to nights that could run you thousands of dollars. Be grateful for the choice, because in most of the rest of the country the choice is, the bar down the street or the movie theatre showing last year's movies. Gonna jump off the soap box now and head out for the night, lots of fun to be had.
  13. Sorry for the double post above, this messageboard is buggy sometimes. Anyway, I can promise you all that an announcement of the crobar NYE lineup will be coming soon, maybe next week. All I can say now is, it is going to be something special, and definately something New York City hasn't seen in a LONG time.
  14. Nothing is official until you either see tickets up for sale or a listing on our website. Don't worry, there are big plans for NYE but I can't confirm or deny anything yet. Stay tuned.

  16. You can just click the link in my sig for the upcoming schedule. As well as buy tickets. Hi Bradley.
  17. Sorry, not guestlists, just Pre-sale tickets. Same thing really, pre sale is same price as guestlist + surcharge. Most are happy to pay the extra 2 bucks to get in the club faster. Will Call line moves about 10x faster than general admission.
  18. Anyone who had issues with pre-sale tickets and getting into the club saturday night (Oct. 30th), please call the club office at 212-629-9000. This is for people who bought tickets online but did not enter the club. Thanks.
  19. I check these boards at least 2-3 times a day and will try to answer as many questions as I can. Events will be posted as they are finalized. The ticket page will be updated tomorrow with all events that have been finalized. I hope everyone had a great halloween weekend. From what I saw of the turnout Saturday night in the neighborhood, you all did. Oh and feel free to PM me if you don't want to post a question, I do read and answer them.
  20. Tickets at the door are on average 5-10 dollars more than online. Usually the same as reduced. There are exceptions though, especially for big events. At Gay Pride, tix for Victor Calderone started at $45 online 2 weeks before the event. Tix at the door were $65 the night of. Buying in advance will also usually get you in quicker, we keep a seperate line for pre-sale people and move them through at a different pace than general admission. Hope that helps.
  21. Evening all. Some of you may have noticed me posting in crobar related threads over the last couple of days. Just to answer some obvious questions that may come up about who I am, I'm posting this. Yes, I am a crobar employee. I am not a promotor or guestlist person. I'm actually crobar's network admin. Part of my job is our online ticketing program. I am also going to be answering any reasonable questions that come up about either our online tickets, or crobar New York in general. What I will not be doing. I don't participate in flames of any kind. I happen to love the CP boards because they are full of honest users who really don't have a problem expressing their opinions of a party or venue. So negative posts about crobar aren't going to elicit some defensive response from me defending it. You are all entitled to feel what you feel. I'm here to give info, not make judgements. I will not have anything to say about any other venue. I am fiercely loyal to crobar, and wish any and all other clubs the best of luck in everything. And that is the only thing I will say. Some quick personal info. I have lived in NYC my entire life. I'm in my late 20s so my clubbing life was basically Palladium, Limelight, Club USA, Webster Hall, Life, Tunnel and Soundfactory. However I remember very little about any of those nights I am always interested to hear what you all think about crobar and I do read the reviews you guys post, good or bad, about our parties. I have been reading these forums for a couple of months and have a pretty good feel for its personality. If you feel the need to contact me, my email is in my profile or you can PM me, I will read and respond to as many as I can. Thanks for reading, and, since its Friday, Everyone have a great time! Thanks, Phil
  22. Thanks. I'll be posting here on a semi regular basis to answer any questions CP people may have about crobar.
