  1. Yeah, I got an email from Circus saying there will be house music all night in The Loft (which I'm assuming is the upstairs area between the two main rooms). It's relatively small, but I guess it's better than nothing. I'll probably check it out on Saturday. My friend who went last week said the place was packed!
  2. I meant the side/room furthest from the main entrance, next to the kitchen area. I don't know if it's officially a house room, but that's what they were playing in there most of the time. Oh and for clarification, I'm talking about Circus, not Arena (where Red used to be). I went to Circus the week before Red officially moved there.
  3. Yeah actually I think you're right. I went to Circus last week after Daft Punk, and, aside from the fact that the place was practically empty, it was a pretty good vibe (esp. the hula-hoop girl! I tripped out just watching her cause she had this huge ALL NATURAL smile on her face all night!) Also there were too many people in the trance room and not enough people on the house side (just my personal preference). Dunno what was up with the guitar guy, either...but yeah, I can see myself going back there. At the very least there is room to dance, so I won't be packed like a sardine all night at Avalon/Vanguard....
  4. Seriously, does anyone else think this is a really bad idea? Red is going head-to-head against both Avalon and Vanguard. I don't think there are enough people to support all 3 clubs on one night.
  5. I've had nothing but bad experiences with the security at Vanguard. Nothing as extreme as what happened to you, but enough for me to never go back there again. The last time I was there, I was hanging out with my friends who had reserved a table. I was out dancing when the lights came on at the end of the night. So I walked back to the table to go get my jacket, which was at the table slightly behind the DJ stage, next to the outside stairs. Well when I got there, a ring of security guys was standing in front of the DJ stage, telling everyone to go home. I told the one security guy closest to the table that I needed to get my jacket, which was right behind him. Literally, it was 3 feet behind him. The guy tells me I can't go back there. I told him if he just turned his head for a second, he would see the jacket. The security guy refused, and then told me that my friend had my jacket (how the hell did he know that?). So I call my friend, who tells me she doesn't have my jacket. So I have to go convince another security guy to let me walk like 3 feet to get my jacket. That was so ridiculous! Anyways, if you want awesome security, go to Avalon. Everyone there is really cool. On some nights, the security people are the coolest ones there.
  6. I don't know if it's a vip room since anyone can walk in there and hang out, and there is no security there or anything. I think they also serve food up there, although I've never ordered anything. I think it's just a chill room for people to hang out in.
  7. 1 correction about the Arena review: Arena: 18. how many rooms with music in them? only one Actually, Arena has 2 rooms of music, although they don't promote the other room at all. When you immediately walk in and go past the coat check on your right, you will see a set of stairs. If you go up the stairs, there is another room with a DJ playing house. It's not very well known and they don't promote it at all, but it's there. If only they had bigger/better DJ's there, it would be a nice change of pace from the usual trance crap in the main room.
