my weekend in boston

got into south station around 11pm. where all my friends have already started drinking for a couple hours at Fire-n-ICe. so we meet them at The Rack. of course the place is jamming cuz the CELTICS WIN! . boy do i forget how cheesy that place is. lol i had my fill of that place for at least another 6 months (that woudl be bring me to xmas time :D )

so fast forward to Saturday night -- where do we end up for my friends bday... where do you think? you guessed it -- El Roxy. :blank: place was packed as usual and saw all the ol faces (as usual) i guess it was either that or Avalonia for Louie Devito on saturday :blank: again. ( um oh yeah my friends were all ranting baout the new Louie Devito CD "dance factory":blank: )

so here comes the drama... after the roxy we learn that one of our friends gets pulled over for DUI. he was smashed and thats being generous. Miraculously we were able to get him out of jail that night, but unfortunately he took the breathalizer. and registered a .18!!!!! yeah so he;s fucked and they cut up his license right there. he's getting charged today and since he's already on probabation is most likely going to be serviing some time! oh yeah and on top of that he almost hit one of the cops driving.

so post that drama we pile back iknto the cars at 5am to go to Tantra in Saugus. i must say, not bad. definitely not as bad as Pulse (the ultimate crackshack of them all) . Place was packed but its not that big to begin with. Was suprised to see that one of my friends bro's was spinning in the lounge room (mike spinelli) Thumbs up to him! :D so finally my body conked out at like 9ish... (did the night sober) and went back to my friends place to grab my bags and relax a lil bit before i headed back off to NYC on the noon bus.

oh yeah that and i busted my ankle dancing at the roxy. i kinda just danced through it. and worked it out but i woke up today and whaddya know its bruised and a lil swollen and sore as hell!

Friday night was really fun. Sandra Collins didn't show, which was sweet. We got to hear Ali and Debo rock it out for 4 hours... not too shabby at all (Ali's set was nasty as always). Debo did his usual thing, which was great (Although I was praying they'd just let Ali take all 4 hours... oh well, there's always Rise on the 17th :) )

Drew, I've got us covered next time we're at Avalon/Axis. In Axis, big bar, last bartender on the right... making me the biggest, stiffest Jack & Cokes this side of Tennessee (seriously, she pulled out the 180 & Vodka cups for me). I think I'm in love

Just got your message from yesterday. I ended up having to run around and do a whole bunch of stupid errands and stuff yesterday, so it wasn't a very merry Cinco de Mayo. What did you end up doing??

So you went to Tantra for afterhours? HUM, I heard about that place this weekend, I have been there for regular hours, but I just heard about this afterhours thing. So it was cool? Was it killing you with Cheesyness? Tell me more about this afterhours here? Thinking about checking it out soon....

Sorry there isn't much to do here during the weekend outside of Friday nights at Avalon..... Roxy is horrible!

Yesterday Meg and I hit up just about every mexican place in the city and they were all just ok. The place that had the most stuff going on and surprised the shit out of us was Cheers in Fanuiel hall. It was a good time there, and we couldn't believe it!!

I would like to check out Tantra sometime, but it is just that whole time in between 3 and 5:30 that gets me.

Didn't go out this weekend, trying to kick this little cold thing that I had at the beginning of the weekend. Which I seemed to have gotten the upper hand, but Friday night I stayed in and made Mike dinner. Then him and I picked up a little bag of nugz and had a fun time after that. Saturday, I went up to Mike's parents so that he could change the tops to his jeep, jeepin with the top down=always better time...:D I cleaned my little bug for like 6 hours, inside and out on Saturday. Had a little cook out on Saturday night for dinner! At night Mike and I went for a walk down the Commons on Saturday night, again nugz was part of our little walk, it was so nice out! Yesterday, I woke up with a little nugz hang over, but a wake and bake always takes care of that. The hair of the dog that bit you, you know!!!;) But I went to the Charles and went and jogged for about and hour and sat out in the sun, then didn't do much besides watch the Celts lose and did the normal Sunday thing.

So basically I got high all weekend and didn't do much. Weather it was from getting stoned all weekend, or from pure laziness no one will ever know!!! lol

tijuana: groove is in the air

sia vs jigsaw: drink to get drunk

green velvet: la la land (futureshock mix)

donna summer: i feel love (danny howells mix)

asambai and gordon edge: asambai live

milo: jungle of mirror (scumfrog mix)

kylie minogue: love at first sight (scumfrog mix)

celeda: burning (flatliners mix)

foremost poets: moonraker (king unique mix)

robert owens: ill be your friend (leon roberts edit) with moonraker accapella

hey y'all... I had a fantastic weekend of lounging around with college friends in a cabin on Lake Tahoe... Lots of laughs.. We all went to a spa one day and got ourselves a massage... Now *that's* something I could get used to ;)

Flew in this morning so I'm dragging a bit... but being able to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in CA was worth it!

When it's nice out, like it was this weekend... nugz is ALWAYS the word ;):smoke:

Actually, I've got a pretty intersting nugz story. Let me preface this story by stating a harsh truth... at 1307 Commonwealth, we're out of nugz :shake:

Anyway, read on if you're bored.... Allston is well known for one thing: street people. They live on the street for one reason or another, they're over-run in Allston, and they're completely unavoidable. But you have to hand it to them, they do add some character (if not smelliness) to ghetto Allston. Anyway, pretty much everyday I park my car on Comm. Ave right outside a Store 24. Now, from what I can tell, the most revered street person is the guy who holds the door for people at Store 24 for money. He sits with a cup all day long, holding the door for people, asking money (not forcably) in return. They're always the best-dressed street people (sometimes they're dressed better than me!) Also, I swear these guys work in shifts... you'll see the same one there at the same time of day for weeks at a time. Being that I park my car in front of there Mon - Fri, I see the same door-holder guy 4 or 5 times every week. I've given him change a couple of times and for one reason or another he loves me. He's completely mute, so everytime I walk by him he pounds his hand on his chest like he's my boy, gives me a nod to say what's up and flashes a big smile. He's definitely my favorite Allston street person.

On Sunday me and my roomate were throwing a baseball around on the sidewalk outside our place. The guy was walking down the street, saw me, and was psyched. He saw my black eye and asked what happened (remember, he doesn't speak, this is all done with signs... but it's not quite sign language). Anyway, we go on kind of talking (all while I'm throwing the ball around with my roomate), and he makes a sign asking if I want to smoke. I tell him I don't have anything, he points out that he wants to smoke me up, he just needs papers. So, I run inside, grab him a paper, and the next thing I know they guy's rolling a dube on the street (I checked his weed, it was legit... nothing fishy). So, I grab my stoner roomate and low and behold, a street-guy is smoking us up! It was bizarre, but fun and really interesting. After we smoked the guy was all psyched and started telling us stories all through sign... almost like miming. He told us a story about how he got jumped and fought off a few guys, how the cops give him a hard time, all that kind of stuff. Until yesterday I'd never talked with someone who was mute. He could understand me perfectly, but couldn't speak himself. Seeing him retell stories and seeing how he uses miming to get his point across was really interesting.. kind of eye opening. Then again... maybe that was the nugz ;):D

So that's my long-winded nugz story... I wouldn't ever recommend smoking with someone off the street, unless he's a store 24 door opener, and you KNOW he's cool

Sorry there isn't much to do here during the weekend outside of Friday nights at Avalon..... Roxy is horrible!

wel the lounge room was more like a lil deep house, funk feel to it. and the other room was more techy, harder beats. liked both, but i couldn't handle the crowd (or should i say the amt of)in the main room so i stayed in the lounge --was too tired to deal. liked the end of mike's set -- he worked in some good buildups

recognized lots of ppl - a lil roxy, a lil avalon etc. (but i dont know if its much of a friday avalon crowd there though.... )

boston has been itching for a Saturday after hours for a while... and this def beats driving to RI or NH to party.

oh yeah, i must say (and my friends agreed) that the ppl there def knew how to dance. :D

Carelli that is the funniest thing I heard all day. Here is one like that, in the T station at Kenmore bum #1 is sitting at the usual post, in walks bum #2, bum #1 and bum #2 start talking and bum #1 says " I have been here all day, why don't you take over and I will head down the orange line". Bum #2 agrees and their days continue on. Funny shit, but they didnt smoke me up:laugh:
