Xpander Posted June 21 Report Share Posted June 21 So check it, the Metro Pavilion is probably one of the nicest venues that I've been to. Anyways, the music was good, the drinks strong, and the people generally friendly. So it has to be said, last night was pretty damn cool. Slam, Funk D'Void, Dave Ralph, and DJ Wool all get the thumbs up for the night. May and Middleton were beginning to sound REAL good, but mr. pillow called my name. Good seeing everybody again, albeit some of yous might be a bit too inebriated to remember *ahem*.BTW, bad idea to throw the headliners on when everybody's leaving.And another thing...the entire event was "corporate raving" in a nutshell. What seemed to be a promotional schtick for Smirnoff seemed to actually consist of quite a bit of internal marketing. In a way, the party kids like myself there seemed to really be sideshows, representatives of the "rave/party culture" for all the suits to see. It's a pretty interesting way to establish a new brand image for Smirnoff, and it'd probably make an interesting business study to see exactly who this night was oriented towards. Standard issue prog house was not on the menu for the night.I spent most of the time in the techno room, other than that, it was DJ Wool and Dave Ralph, both were pretty good. I found out that Centro-Fly used a picture of me (actually shadowed) for their flyer last week...
