tastey
Originally posted by dgmodel someone once said to me, "...In order to first hate someone you have to love them..."wtf?! what does this mean? i disagree with it. hmmm that perhaps you only can really hate them when you have loved them first. like a pendelum (sp?) that swings from side to side? that it only swings so far into the negative that you can really call it "hate" when it has swung into the positive first, that it has more "drive" or "energy" by swinging into the positive first.could also be that it is based on the contrast principle, like cold water is perceived colder by you when you had your hand in hot water beforeargh it´s hard to explain and i currently lack the words, does the above make any sense at all

I can't say I agree with that either...but I could sort of understand where they're coming from...... I guess it means when you're burned badly by a loved one, you "hate" them passionately.....but in reality... love is still the root of both emotions.......does that make sense? dgmodel
what song is that?
phatman
Originally posted by dgmodel what song is that? To maintain that depth you must really know what you're hating. Knowing in that depth could equate to Love but is not true in every case. I think people throw the term Hate around as loosely as they do Love. In the end, both terms imply "passion" - ergo the common association with Love. Just my two cents.
