phatman
...if you had lost 90% use of it to a stroke or accident?here's the situation:...i was across the street buying lunch and this elderly woman was paying for her goods...her left arm was stuck in a permanent position and it appeared that her lower arm, below the elbow, was completely useless...no finger movement, no elbow movement...and it was facing outward...it was sad, but she seemed to be well adjusted...but eventually I thought it must be so difficult to get dressed, move, etc with the way it was positioned...wouldnt you just amputate the lower part of your arm?would you?i think i would... embodiedhate
You know, I was gonna come up with something witty/obnoxious for this one, but I'm just soo not inspired with the traffic on this board today. So I guess my answer would be, I'd cut it off, have it freezedried and sell it as modern art for 10 million in cash.
sassa
no, i don't think i would.
hotcheme
i wouldn't because it isn't only about functionality - it is more "normal" looking to have a whole arm there, even if it doesn't do anything.

kingartur
I would def keep my arm.My grandfather was wounded in his arm during WW2, he has no feeling in his arm below the elbow, cant move his fingers either. But he never thought about cutting it off.

gothzane
Id cut it off and replace it with a multifuncional cyborg arm.Id equip the pinky with a lockpick(i always lose my damn keys)the ring finger with a lazer cutter(cause you just never know...)the middle...will extend three times its normal size for road rage purposes.the pointer will be equipt with a tazerand the thumb with a beer bottle openera grapling projectile hook on the wrista cooling system on my palm (so by beer never goes warm)Id place an intricate hydrolic sysytem in my forearm so i can lift the keg with one arm...hoorah! and an automatic defense system in my shoulder to parry slaps when my pickup lines fail to humor.
