phatman
...actually, it's the opposite for me...ironically enough i help out a lot of people during the day and would be deemed "productive"...but i cant help feel i am more beneficial outside of work than inside... phuturephunk
. . . I dunno what it is . . but it seems like, the only time I actually feel valid as a human being is when I'm doing work . .
tastyt
Sometimes...But that's pretty much how we're programmed to think... paid work is productive, everything else is just recreation... this even includes spending time with your family... somebitch
no i never feel that way. my job is boring routine. i feel like whenever i do something habitual/routine it is thoughtless and lacking purpose.
phuturephunk
. . it's more like a sense of fulfillment for me . . . Like the only thing that actually brings me joy in this life . . Even if I'm working for a shitty company and shitty people I still feel good when I'm doing what I'm good at . . . All the other times I'm just floating through the ether, passing the time high on some substance or another without purpose . .
jimk29
When I am at work I feel like I have no purpose, when I am writing, painting, or spinning is when I feel like I have purpose. Being creative gives me a feeling of fulfillment.

djqwest
I had those feeling for the first month of unemployment. I'm way over that at this point. I seriously miss the obscene amount of money that I had and the lifestyle that came with it.Originally posted by phuturephunk . . . marcid21
I agree with Quest to an extent.......while I was unemployed, I had the pleasure of interacting with friends and family a lot more...and had time to persue other interests.......I'd say those things are much more rewarding than just contributing to the daily grind day after day.D is right...we're programmed to think a certain way...when in fact...it's our jobs sometimes that contribute to our downfall. bustaknut2001
I don't feel this way. I feel productive when I help someone on the street, or reach for an item too high up in the grocery store, or give my seat up on a subway for. It's things like this that make the world a better place.
