tsheritage
He's mostly associated with the Philly "Nu Soul" scene. Worked in Jazzy Jeff's studio for a while ... generally thought to be one of the next big things out of Philly. Sounds like it would be a good event to check out! Possible see y'all there. houseb4titties
Duplaix is most known for his track "Manhood." The only track that makes me want to fuck anything with two legs within my eyesight whenever I hear it.Had the chance to hear him earlier this year. He doesn't like to stick to one style of music so don't really expect to hear a *dj* set. I was expecting to hear all deephouse, but he played a bit of house, rnb, and hiphop for his set. In other words, great production work, but no mixing. He was just playing records but I still enjoyed the tracks that he threw out. He does a lot of good production work with 4 Hero as well.He was here last month as well but I didn't go. Here's a good little biography and review of his DJ Kicks release.http://www.lunarmagazine.com/reviews/cd_vikter.htmlDigital and Phrank...when are you guys gonna come on over to UGH? tsheritage
So how was the gig? Fuqqin work called the wife in at 11pm and screwed our whole evening so we didn't get to go. Can anyone give a review ... I really wanted to be there!
digital7
His set was nice and defenitely eclectic .. dropped down Jazzanova, to Maxwell, to Q-Tip to Thievery to Sade and everything in between ... not quite the mixer but defenitely has a great vibe and nice record collection kicking it ... stayed there for a bit to enjoy his set and pulled double duties. Nice crowd too, everybody was chillen having a good time. no attitudes, no bullshit, all vibe. They even had some breakerz dancing up in the lobby pulling some crazy ass stunts - top stuff ... TS - sorry to hear you couldnt make it man, next time around drop me a PM and we'll meet upHouse - check your PM's
