There was an article about burning Caleries.

Walking is less than Sex

Biking is less than sex

Swimming is more than sex

Running is more than sex

Etc... Etc...

i took a course on excercising

and u can actually calculate how many calories u are burning during both activities if u take ur heart rate

well on speculation alone i think i burn more calories running an hour straight

because sex is more comparable to interval training

plus the intensity for running is higher and there would be the afterburn effect

I will look for the article when I get the chance. I believe it was either in Muscle Fitness or. Mens Health. I am not 100% possitive it has been a while since I read the article.

duh i can read

i am asking more specifically how did they run this

did they have a person perform these activities or did they use an average target heart rate, etc

cause a lot of those activities vary in intensity depending on the person

I think they measure it by measuring the amount physical force used to complete the the task. ie running for 10 mins at 12 mph is harder than having sex for 10 mins (well thats up for debate).

Plus you have to take in account that weight lifting, running are 1 person activies. Meaning that all the engery used to lift, run comes from the ONE person doing it. Sex, on the other hand , USUALLY has 2 people doing it and the engery used is spread between the 2 people.

i guess the sex category should be broken up

for exampe girl riding guy for one hour, etc

im just curious on how they conducted the sex tests

like what positions they were in, etc

u know sex could be like taking a power yogo class
