pod Posted January 29 Report Share Posted January 29 Public transit options:Take the free shuttle from FLL to the Tri-Rail stop. Take the Tri-Rail southbound ($2 to $3) to the Metrorail transfer station...transfer to the Metro for free. Take the Metro to Government Center Station, grab a Rail-To-Bus Transfer for a quarter. Go outside the station to the bus stop, grab the C, K, or S bus northbound which will take you to the beach, and by the Riande on Collins and 20th at one point. Total cost, less than $5 a person. Total time, probably about 2 hours, with all the transfers and waiting. Downside, the buses can be crowded, especially if you have a lot of luggage. Bums and other social misfits abound, we haven't gotten around to herding them off into the Everglades yet to form their own bum-society. Pack wisely if you're gonna go this way.Private transit:Standard cab will cost $60. Super Shuttle, probably about $30. Both are pretty fast, less than an hourShared-ride limo costs $20 per person, but you may take awhile if they're dropping off other people.
