Um, I think she was kidding. I mean, who really would want to get serious with a porno star (banging from time to time doesn't count)?

Anyway, the only real criteria that I have (as far as career aspirations) for a possible relationship, is that she is not lazy. I can't stand laziness. I picture myself out working my ass off, while some slob is sitting around the house and counting my money (I think I may be jaded from some marriages I know...)

  i guess i forget to add the emoticons to show i was kidding hahahahahahah

i strolled into work from the sears auto center after dropping off my car, and my co-worker dropped what she was doing to give me a wide-eyed look.

"was the guy with the crazy glasses there?" she asked, hurriedly.

when i saw him there i had immediately thought of my co-worker; he was just her type. he's what my friends and i, back in the day, used to call "dork funky": someone who wears all the nerdy stuff with a sense of humor, trying to make it cool.

anycaca, i said, "yes," but didn't agree with her on the cuteness factor. but she said she wouldn't go out with a mechanic, anyway. i found that elitist and snobby refuse.gif . i don't care what a guy does, as long as he has the qualities i look for in a guy, which include education and intelligence; i think my co-worker jumps to the conclusion that auto mechanics aren't smart. i feel that, if a guy loves cars, devoting his time to them and getting paid for it is just the same as me following my calling, whatever that is.

are there people you wouldn't go out with just because of their professions? (obviously, a 30-year-old making minimum wage at bk doesn't count cheeseburger.gif , but that speaks more to a lack of drive or motivation. i think you know what i mean.) are there any careers that are just no-nos?

ppl tend to do what the love to do... shit youre going to be doing it your whole life... so why wouldnt you!? the type of proffession one is in, should not reflect on his character, personality and etc. ive met many ppl in different proffessions, and sure there are stereotypes for each, however for every stereotypeish person theres another who breaks the stereotype... its a shame that in this day and age ppl still, put so much emphasis on irrelevant factors when it comes to matters of the heart... "anycaca..." the person who said that is obviously insecure with herself, and fears what others think/say of her... most importantly, i dont mind if my girl is a secretary or a ceo love is love, and has nothing to do with her career...

schedules of some careers are hard to make work... for instance, chefs, bar tenders, flight attendants, ceo's, financial positions, doctors, lawyers, etc... tend to work ridiculous hours and sometimes through the evening... if a woman said that she wouldnt be able to date a person who fell into this category due to family issues or because the other half would never be home for the family that is a totally different issue at hand... HOWEVER if s/he is saying that they would not date someone from a certain industry simply because of stereotypes of social-class level then id say the person needs to grow up...

I agree with pretty much everyone else.. the job to me doesn't much matter, as long as you have one.. If i like someone and I am happy with them, I can care less what they do for a living. There is too many other qualities i look for in a person then what they do..I do tend to always end up with guys that do some sort of labor job though, are in the union, whatever.. I know i am going to probably contradict myself here, but they always seem to have alot more heart and alot more life experience then guys who work behind a desk.. I don't know thats just my observation, but again it really doens't matter what you do.. if someone makes you happy then thats all that matters.
