Actually Nina, most likely they can only trace the block of IP's that your address cam from and that you direct them to the ISP that you use. Tracking it right down to your address is a little more tricky. Especially if you get your IP address dynamically and it's always changing. The IP address you use today could be the same one the guy 4 streets up from you gets tomarrow.

True, but any good sysadmin will keep a running log of IP to account assignments and archive them at specified intervals, say a month. So yeah, it'd be hard to trace back, but if the law REALLY wanted in, they Sysadmins for the ISP could produce it.

I have over 100 machines that get assigned on a monthly basis, I can tell you what terminal had what IP for the last 2 years if necessary . .

I THINK THAT ONLY WORKS FOR AOL

I HAVE CABLE AND I HAD THE SAME IP ADRESS FOR LONG TIME
