Amen to all that!!! Very nice list!!! But I'd have to say Heather gets a nod for Best house DJ period, male or female... that girl can make a snail dance!

I gotta give it up to the locals first...

those like Edgar V willing to reach down and help out some of the blooming DJ's in town...

DHM who has basically been injecting a new style into South Beach, infiltrating the lounges and smaller venues making it possible for people like Miguel Migs to gain quite a following here in town, not to mention bringing new peeps (such as Phrankadelic earlier this week into the mix to throw down some downtempo / trip hop flava).

Respect to Le Spam and the Spam All-Stars for giving Electronic Music true Miami roots with the incorporation of live musicians and Latin flair over chunky beats...whatta combo!!!

To my partner in Crime...Sean Bauzay developing a style that flip-flops back and forth between the two genres he loves so much...progressive and breakbeats. Having heard him play so very many times throughout the last 2-3 years, he's one of the tightest DJ's on the block!

Big props to all you locals...working so hard to pick any gig available just for the opportunity to play!

As for some of the other guys out there...

I'll give it up to THe UK breakers putting out a new style of breaks that I just cannot get enough of in the studio and on the decks...

Hybrid

Plump DJ's

Koma & Bones

Adam Freeland

Rennie Pilgrim

Tayo

Lee Coombs

Layo & Bushwacka!

General Midi

As far as the big boys are concerned...

You'll always see me at:

Nick Warren

Dave Seaman

John Digweed

Some others I dig:

Kruder and Dorfmeister

Thievery Corporation

Talvin Singh

Confucius

Old School DJ Dan (Like AbsolutV mentioned)

LTJ Bukem and Conrad

Coldcut

Craze

Goldie

Respect,

FX

Unfortunately Adam Freeland will not be at Opium Garden as previously announced. He was supposed to join the Hooj party on 3/17 but had to cancel. The good news is that we have gotten James Zabiela to take that slot.

As for Adam, he is doing his Marine Parade party with a crew of nasty break beat talent at Spiclub on Friday, 3/21.

thanks for the info ogmiami. ever since i bought the adam freeland "on tour" album i have been a huge fan of his quality break beat. but i was fortunate enough to catch james zabiela on 10.4.02 @ crobar. my lord what sick break beat i heard. he was amazing. no wonder sasha picked him to open up his airdrawndagger tour this past year. he was even scratching. i sure wish i could seperate myself into different parts to catch every party during conference this year.

Didn't mean to get this thread off track...I saw Zabiela for the first time in August when he was @ Crobar opening for Sasha. He really blew me away. I can't wait to hear him alongside Sander K.

My favorite DJs are all tied to certain moments of enlightenment gained in my fortunate position of having spent time on a personal and professional level with so many of these talented people...

Dj who was playing the first time a track really moved me...Dave Ralph

Dj who has the most love for the crowd...Taucher

The "Good Will Hunting" of Djs...Sasha

The definative "Live" show...Hybrid

And there are so many more. The point is that for me these guys are really personal in a lot of ways.
