lalate Posted September 13 Author Report Share Posted September 13 Great Question.......Here is how LA nightlife currently stacks up.....#1 Venue = White Lotusin terms of capacity, crowd, buzz, and repeat patronageCurrent "it" Venuesrecently opened venues with great buzz factorin no particular ordera) Forbidden City 9000 Loungec) Shelter... plus two new ones by December coming to you soon (stay tuned with LALate.com for details)All three IT venues are very diff (size, location, features) so they need diff things to happen to maintain staying powerTop Venuesthen you got your top venues that have been open for at least a few months. some open up to several years, and are still doing great business with great crowdsMore recent: ... Nacional, IVAR, Cinespace etcStill doing well: ... AD, Highlands, Barfly etc etcFinal ThoughtsIt is sort of funny, how some of our business contacts run into us at night and say "LALate - what other venues do you know about that are opening up that are suppose to be hot" -- and sure enough, we tell them, and then, poof, less than 2 weeks later they are promoting THAT place. lolSo if you don't know (since LALate's business is to be informed about what is hot and what is not, and since we have no allegance to any venue per se since we aren't a promotion company) a lot of top promoters and event bookers turn to us to seek information about what is really the best of the best around town ... even down to various scenes like the House Music Warehouse scene which is just exploding in LA currently (see our recent threads on the same subject) with cheaper cover, more partying-geared patrons, and better music, all offered in venues decked out as good as any A+ venue in LA.Enjoy! alex90028 Posted September 15 Report Share Posted September 15 Aeahm,The Forbidden City does not even have it's dance license yet, nor did they started any big promotion, that will come in October.9000 Lounge is a cool spot and last friday was rockin, needless to say I was co hosting the event Shelter is ok right now, but will be a lot better after december and after they done some remodeling.Just getting the facts str8 here!!!
