Alot of the people i met from Jersey agreed on this...2nd, RAIN is probably one of the most overrated clubs. i went on a Friday nite and it was 90% hip hop. The DJ played maybe 10 club songs within 4 hours. Alot of the hip-hop that was the DJ was droppin were the one-hit wonders from the 90s. Songs like I got a Man , Cool Like That andI wish . He did play some of the newer hip hop, but honestly Klutch or Toro would school this guy big time. If you plan on goin to Rain get there early as possibly cuz the line starts builing up around 9:15. Bring a 40oz also for the wait. The only nite they really play club music now is on thursday nites. The layout is kool though....DRAIs is by far the best afterhours spot in Vegas. I hit that place up on wed, thurs and fri nite. Best time for arrival is around 3:30 and 4. The drinks they served were the size of the Drinks from when metro had the Afterhours thing happening. You will hear the best music at Drais. The DJ played alot of the songs that i would normally hear in jersey and some lost classics. He playedDA HYPE, E-samba, Hypnotize, Satisfied, Sanctaury, Elements, Rain, Lose it..to the Sound, Looking For Love and countless other classics. I happened to meet this girl who was from Rutherford and was a die-hard Metro fan. RA went completly downhill. It used to be one of my fav clubs but they have a new format there on wed nites and i wasn't too happy hearing rock in there.Tabu reminded me of Deko. Alot of vocal house and tribal in there.54 gets good around midnite. They play alot of 70s-early 90s from 10-12. The view from Ghostbar makes you feel like you are on top of the world. The music that was being played there reminded me of DJAIS happy hour.I must have heard You Promised Me by In-Grid and Deepest Blue 7 of the 9 clubs that i went to. ICE is only good when they bring in talent. Lets face it other then DJ at Drais and Duanne King, all the other vegas DJs really have no concept of good music. The DJ at 54 was rockin out to DarkBeat. didn;t do the prebought vip passes. i got a comp card for RAIN from the doorguy and i was already on a list for ghostbar via their website. The clubs in vegas are great but Energy is lackin big time in alot of those places. I had a super time. the foundation room in the mandalay bay is unbeleivable on monday night. best night down there. i have been there 100 times but i was never around for a monday night. it was great 3 rooms of music lots of ass. Last time i went i was Rumjungle for a bit then around 1 I headed to the foundation room. The view is amazing. All about hip hop.#2) RAIN IS overrated, even though it was an awesome time getting into the VIP for the Halloween party...meantime the line is out the casino!!! Suckers!! Who u know!! #3) Drais is good but the music still lacks the energy of our afterhrs clubs here. Seven's was not bad for Afterhours either. I ended up at Drais everynight. You know...strong drinks!! LOL#4) TABU was a GREAT surprise. I made the mistake of going to Studio 54...but as we stumbled thru the casino...drunk as a skunk....out of that place...when suddenly above the ELVIS "one handed bandits" the sound of good music popped up. Gitty up...TABU...Great time.Ra is no longer......Studio 54 is no longer.....ICE is great when there is good talent.....JP was there for Halloween....most people were sitting around not even moving (and I dont mean cracked out)..just no energy..to some great sets. My point remains the same, WEST side peeps have no energy!! Hence u like HIP HOP.LIGHT is best SUNDAY NIGHT. Tons of ass.....talking very good looking to hot that is. Don't come here for the music but they approach you!! lol. CRAZY HORSE TOO....ahhh yes....start off your thursday night there....BUT DONT GO BACK that same trip!!! Me and a friend ended up getting invited to one of their b-day parties at LIGHT on Sunday. Me, a buddy and 10 hot strippers.....dont ask how many times we pinched ourselves....LOL.....plus they fronted the bill for the bottles and the table. You want good music stay EAST, you want back-to-back nights of crazy partying, nonstop, day or night..go to VEGAS.PS: After a while, being asked if "your from NY aren't u?", before you even say anything, might get bothersome!!! At least 1000 times I was asked that...what the fock.The major thing that has changed about it...at least this Halloween when I went...is that the majority of the people are from NYC/NJ. When I went over the summer.. they basically ONLY let women in for the first two hours.. Hott chicks everywhere.. The layout was a little weird though.. But the view is unreal. Tabu is better durign the week then weekends. If you wanna get comped for Rain on thursdays, go through the Palms website. If you go to Rain on sat or friday expect 90% hip-hopEveryone in Drais is awsome. You meet the coolest people.
