stigeleiro Posted April 12 Report Share Posted April 12 Because the question has been asked a million times now I figured its time I give everyone the 411 on JP at the Jersey shore this summer or as a matter of fact in Jersey in the near future. JP as of now will not be playing the SURF or anywhere else in NJ. How do I know this? JP's manager David, who I have been friends with prior to him becoming JP's manager, and I had a nice lengthly conversation last week discussing the possibility of him playing in NJ. Though some people remember the time that JP played at SURF for 1/2 hour one Sunday afternoon during Ziggy's set he has been impossible to book him there. Reason being the contract he had with Richard Grant. Now no more contract but issues still are there. David feels that right now the right place for Johnathan is New York and occasional appearances at some of the clubs he has been playing at for years. At the same point I dont feel David understands the Jersey presence on the NY clubscene. We are what makes or breaks NYC. Some of NYC's biggest parties were DJed by Denny a Jersey guy with a great Jersey presence and we all know if we walked into Sound Factory in its hay day how Jersey dominated that place was. When I worked at the Factory as a promoter when it opened we dominated the tally sheets weekly. So now where does it stand. Here it is. I have been doing this a long time and have known David for many many years. If someone tells u they got Johnathan or they are close. Dont believe them. About this summer, expect to see Johnathan and David making an appearance early in the summer at SURF (not to play but to look and listen). I know their visit there will open some eyes.
