robbierob
What's up CP..I'm about to add some CD Decks to my Tables so I'll have the complete setup..Unforunately the Pioneers are not in my budget yet. So I'm heading to Guitar Center to check out others. Leaning toward the Numark Axis 9..Does anyone have or tried these that can give me feedback? pod
Try angling for CDJ-800s ... they're like the 1000's little brother...
eKiTeL
I've read that the Numark axis are a great deal for the money, but the Pioneer 800's dont' really cut it
juxt
I personally like CD decks that have slot-in CD load rather than a tray. It might not seem like a big deal at first but I find it quite a huge plus. You can stop, eject, insert and start a CD, e.g. a full swap in around 3 seconds on a slot-in deck.

Yeah and when you are moving around, you dont want to accidentally hit the tray with your leg or anything.

juxt
those are very good...its between the 800's or the DN-S5000 for me...good to see ya posting bro...I would take DN-S5000's before the Pioneers. Generally, S5000 are way more advanced of a toy than CDJ 800's or even CDJ 1000's. It has a real active platter, plays MP3 and has the alpha-track. On a side note, my DN-S5000's run way cooler than any of the 1000's I've played with.
eKiTeL
really?? how so?? i have a cdj-100 and i was thinking of going for the 800...according to David Duriez:"i heard too that the processor on the technics cd player is not toogood. hope they will fix it for the next generation.talking about avoiding cd players, my fave are pioneers players, especially cdj1000 but in my opinion don't buy the cdj800.i just hate it.i'm wondering why they changed the sensitivity of the platter which isdefinitely not the same than the 1000 !!may be if you only know this one this is ok but having praticed a loton cdj1000, using a 800 makes me sick EVERYTIME !! this is just sohard to be used to it....so 1000 yes, 800 no, 100s yes !thanks pioneer. nobody's perfect in a way.dd"

daillestmattyg
Pioneers have much better sound quality. Goes to show why most clubs don't have the Denon 5000. The pioneers are great and the jog wheel is so easy to use.
drsatan
that is not the reason why most clubs have the pioneers. the reason is that the pioneer came out almost 3 years before the Denons. the Denons are new to the scene.
juxt
Pioneers have much better sound quality. Goes to show why most clubs don't have the Denon 5000. The pioneers are great and the jog wheel is so easy to use.Where did you find information that says that Pioneers have better sound quality? Did someone actually run both of these decks through a noise ratio or at least an oscilograph? I'd love to see that. Until there are hard numbers, it's just an opinion. From my personal experiences, Pioneer 600 mixer, which is considered defacto by most clubs, is probably one of the noisiest on the market. A sub $200 Berhiner DJX 700 produces significantly less noise, you can actually hear the difference by ear. I own both.
