surgery..

Recommended Posts

i'm having my galbladder takin out.. anybody else have theirs out too ? what what was the recovery like ? i've never had surgery i'm flippin' outtttttt..

Its a pretty quick procedure...they will make four tiny incisions for the scopes and remove it...its not like the old days were they have to cut through the abdominal muscles...you'll probably be in the hospital for one to two days...and the recovery time is very fast....Dont worry about it!!!

The replys are pretty on the money in this thread (except for the one with two small incisions--that is impossible because you need one for the camera, at least one to hold the gall bladder, and one to dissect the thing out). The only exception is when the gall bladder is really inflamed (or there is some sort of unexpected complication--VERY RARE), the surgeon might need to do an "open" procedure--the incision that you heard about. That only happens about 3-5% of the time. Yours doesn't seem like that sort of case, so you'll probably have 4 small incisions, you'll have clear fluids that night, and you'll go home the next day about 90% of the time. You'll be able to get up and move around in 2-3 days, and you'll be able to hit up Surf Club not the next weekend, but the weekend after. But you won't be able to lift anything heavy for about 4 weeks. Good Luck. PM me if you have any questions.
