pk1
This question is to those who have stayed at MGM grand. How are the Bungalo suites there? Currently I have a room in the Grand Tower and I was wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to the Bungalo suite for $80 extra a night. I have no idea what the rooms look like at the MGM grand so any info would be helpful. Thanks.
solbeam
http://www.mgmgrand.com The rooms are pretty sweet..you can see pictures on the website..How much time do you plan to spend in your room? Is it worth the extra $$?

pk1
No haven't heard of it. How's it work?
kaydup
If you are going there to really party, then it doesnt matter that much imo... I am never in my room so that is an extra 80 bucks to blow somewhere else
thehype
MgM grand is my fav hotel there....can't go wrong wit that hotel
BillLe
The $20 trick is when you check in and are giving your credit card, slip a $20 under it, but make sure it is sticking out so it is visible and ask for any upgrades. They'll either say yes or no. I've seen it work 75% of the time. Just not at hotels like Bellagio, Venetian, Mandalay Bay...you get the idea. cabowabo
Hey Bill, do you think the $20 rule might work at the LuXor? I've already got a suite there but, a bigger suite is always good...
BillLe
I have heard that it has worked there. The worse that can happen is they say no right. Never hurts to try.

danswat79
It worked for my firends who were out here Memorial Day weekend. They checked in around 6 @ Ceasar's for one night on Sunday. Gave the guy $20 and they got upgraded from a regular room to a $750 dollar suite. The guy was even telling us we'll want to throw parties in the room - and when we saw it we couldn't beleive it. It had a huge tub in the bathroom..2 couches - a bar..and all kinds of art all over the room. Probably 3x the size of a regular room. When we actually looked it up online it was supposed to be $1100 for that night. If you really think about it - why wouldn't the person behind the desk do it for extra $$? Every job in Vegas is all about getting the extra tip - and for those @ the front desk - this probably their only shot. Unless the hotel is completely sold out or if the employee thinks they will get in trouble - I don't see them turning it down. I would say $20 a night or $50 for a weekend is definitely worth it, especially if your going to be partying in the room. I've seen this work first hand - its a great trick

Even the Emerald Tower rocks.Does anyone know if the "hi we came to vegas to get married" lie works at the counter for an upgrade?
