phatman
...the biggest thing about hearing this song as a kid cause i'm that old, was that you heard the word "bitch" on the radio.....that was big shit back then........now there's really not too much taboo left on anything, lol...... therunner
u into bluegrass country now? Actually it's not bluegrass, although the Charlie Daniels Band did produce some, albeit miniscule amounts of Bluegrass material, "the devil..." was one of the first songs that broke the boundaries into Country/Southern Rock, AKA Rock-a-billy. Something was defamed and demoralized by the 1992 culture hit "achy breaky heart." Even though this song was a "hit" around the world and the catalyst that launched country line dancing into mainstream pop-culture, it is a dire shame that country music allowed itself to head in this direction. No problem. I know I blanked out country and anything resembling country for a long time - but now I have expanded a bit and actually listen to some now. I did the same with hip-hop and rap. I can actually say I like some hip-hop, actually alot of hip-hop and a little bit of rap. The hardcore gansta-rap is something I cannot stomach no matter how hard i try. Although my housemate listens to it all the time - it's really depresssing to me so I stay away from it.
