kfitz73
So whats the deal with older cars? I'm lookin to pick up a car from 1964...Old school style boat of a car.Do they get any special type of insurance?I think it depends on the car. I'm pretty sure most insurance companies have special insurance for "classic" cars. The only thing is that you're very limited on miles you can put on... Only like 1000-2000 miles... chrismakk69
Well its pretty much just gonna be like a weekend cruiser type of thing. I've got a daily driver. Anyone got any recommendations on what company to go thru? I use Geico now for my other cars, but their quote was kinda high...
kfitz73
Try Tri State, but they'll only take you if you got a clean license...
keough
old cars mean old odometersin new york i know, prolly new jersey is a "classic" insuranceits VERY cheap, and really, i have a friend, they dont even checkplus really, a 99 civic is simple to set the odometer back, a 1964 would be a joke
pgiddy
esurance.....fuck Geico and their 15%, I went from 320 a month to 210, no joke. I know insurance companies and I did a little info gathering on them to make sure they would pay claims....everything came up clean. I don't pitch many things....but so far*knock on your head* they are good. BTW, I have no accidents......
pgiddy
sorry I didn't answer your question, but there is some cheap insurance you can get, I think it's classic car or antique car, but like someone said you can only put limited miles on a year or your only supposed to be driving to "shows." Besids that just get the basic insurance, fuck it shouldn't be that much
captainpec
If you have a classic car and are using it only for "shows" (and minor driving occassions) the liability insurance is a different policy than normal auto coverage. If your current carrier is giving you the run around, then shop with other vendors.
