bombjack
sorry my lingo aint as impressive as yours howardstone, mabey with a few days on the board i can be just like you we do have clubs here, but there aint many more than 5-6 big ones in the whole country, tho there are loads of small clubs, just as good for nights out but they dont really get the support they deserve. loads and loads of fields though, and i think the troubles chased the famine away so the potatoes, or spuds as we call them (please dont slap me for more local slang howard) are safe again. i hear we might even be getting a mcdonalds (to avoid) too! mockett
I moved over here from the England last year and I still get confused looks at some of my British phrases. Don't worry, they have plenty of their own sayings/slang that'll make you laugh too - to hear someone say "sweet" without a hint of irony still makes me chuckle.Anyway welcome, it'll be a good move for you - good fun over here........... bombjack
we say sweet and sick here too so thats one thing i dont have to drop then. the odder phrazes i use will get a load of laughs too i reckon. the derry accent sucks bigtime. it aint irish and it aint english either. its just wierd and shite sounding. its especially crap when on tv or radio or somthing. you all seem to have a wide range of musical tastes anyway! i'm with you on the trance too img, it aint really to my tastes (i like my music a bit sleazier and dirtier), but i always visit the big trance guns when they are in town.
