liquidx
Well worry about you having fun, not everyone else.. Ive had so many friends complain about the drug issue, and that sort of scared them away from going to Ultra ( Im talking about Mainstream peeps that are consumed by the MEDIA drugs and EDM bs are bad stuff ).. So I took this friends ( Ive been bringing new ones every Ultra ).. and they were having so much fun with the music and the vibe and the dj's that they didnt even notice who was on what and such.. ofcourse they were visible but did that really bother them?!?!.. Ultra is the healthiest festival in terms of safety when it comes to 60,000 party goers... compare it to some rock/hip hop concert where you will find yourself with Drunked, abusive, robbers and such.. and watch out with getting caught in a fight.. you might end up getting stabbed!!.. but this is out of the line. I understand your anger 420honey, but thats more like a personal downer then review the whole Festival as a whole .. know what I mean ?!?! .. I sure as hell would be pissed if I was you too, but to blame Ultra for the parking lot, ur b'friends knee and him having to walk and all the other things.. as well the issue with the promoters not giving u the ticket, well yea it sucks... I dont know if you are willing to go back to Ultra again, but if you are.. then I guess pay for the cheapest ticket, you save yourself a whole lot of trouble and work, and you would erase more then half of the issues you had .. ;-) ... though, its screwed in part of them by not giving u the promised 2 tix's... I dont do drugs, but sadly they've been part since the beginning of the scene, and blame the newcomers who dont like the music but listen to it just bcus of the drugs.. does are the f*ckers and those are the ones established everywhere . mdamon7278
Its half and half, promoters are getting greedy, overbooking, majority of the kids are killing the scene, it all comes down to what should they do to improvement or make it the way it was two years ago
dpreston
kids are not killing the scene...the scene is killing the kids...the scene is fine! haven't been back to ultra since '99, when they ran out of water and were making the deydrated people that had already paid $50-$75 to get in full price re-entry after they left to find a drink. in the 8 years i have been in the 'scene' i've seen and experienced a ridiculous amount of promoter dodgyness firsthand but seeing that is still #1 on the list. figured at the time they would get such bad press and reviews that there was no way they could find the support to throw another party, just goes to show just how clueless the majority of the people that go to events like this are. funketeer
Well worry about you having fun, not everyone else.. Ive had so many friends complain about the drug issue, and that sort of scared them away from going to Ultra. It's no secret that the stars are falling from the sky, it's no secret that our world is in darkness tonight, they say a secret is something you tell another person, so I tell you child...Ultra and the whole drug issue was vox-populi from the get go...was it 7 years ago? 7 years already...every year people complain about Ultra being this and that...yet, they go anyways...this year I didn't feel up for it so I decided to hit the carry-on party at AAA...even though I had an amazing time, I'm aware that it had its flaws, some of which would cost someone's job in my world, yet...the party went on and everyone had a great time...Liquidx, you hit the nail right in thehead my brotha, it's about having fun regardless of the situation surrounding you...let others have the fun they want doing whatever they want,, understand that that's their moment...good or bad, time will teach them that...judging them is abit righteous, if you have such aversion towards it it's probably because there's bad memories about it that affect you directly and have yet the chance to deal with them...I regret not having gone to Ultra a thousand times, mainly because I have to rely on everyone else's reviews instead of having my own opinion about it...I could've gone but I chose not and it's a fuck up that I admit to myself...yet, I'm in peace with the whole thing...next year I'll check it out...unless something really drastic happens, i say Ultra is alive and well and will go on for mamny more years to come (I hope I don't have to eat my hat later for this)It's no secret, we just don't talk aboot it over kraft dinah! ok, bye! b-side
is too many chef's in the kitchen... and none of them speak the same language...I boycotted ultra for a few years.. after they screwed up a Major contract for me with Mackie (the audio co.)... I had the President of Mackie who could not get in (who was sponsoring my stage about 3 years ago)..so for two years I got other gigs out of the country on purpose... and then, i see they started booking another b-side (LOL)How lame..and i went back this year only to experience the same bullshit... but i was not surprisedthey don't care and never will because they make sooo much damn money fucking everyone over... housedivision
I was expecting to see them live, you know, playing there own music. If they were gonna do a fucking dj set which i have seen twice allready, they should have put that on the flyer. The people who I promoted for were supposed to give us more comp tickets, and they were telling us to go here, wait there, go find this person, you have to talk to that person, and no I have NEVER seen anyone od. Nor did I ever want to. I'm sick of seeing these rave documentaries with all the fucked up kids saying its about the music, oh the music, THOSE ARE THE SAME KIDS THAT GET ESCORTED OUT ON A STRECHER. And I'm sick of people complaining that the scene is dead, your negative behavior is killing the scene, no, the kids getting busted trafficing x, and the kids that die, or get taken out of space and into and ambulence (3 in one morning on friday of the wmc), those are the things that are killing the scene. I'm trailing off topic, but I was pissed because the people who threw the party are the most unorganized fucks I've ever met and when they promise something they need to follow thorugh, not make the people who worked hard to promote their party miss the whole fucking thing. Next time you have a shitty comment about something, make sure you read it thoroughly! Thanks,Trish Dude.... bottem line... You went to Ultra. It's not a rave. It's Bush Propaganda. (Sorry I suck at spelling). Not that I'm anybody special but I was a raver in the early 90's before anybody new what a rave was. San Francisco Cali. And I would never in a million years go to an over blown, money rapping, kooked out party like that.(not that any of you who attend are kooks) Just that style of party in general You want to hear real music... spark some real Bud.... you and your man need to Hollllaaaa.
