funketeer Posted April 15 Report Share Posted April 15 Here is an easy step list to become a producer. 1- Learn an instrument and alot of music theory. Without this you will never get anywhere. LEARNING PIANO is the best for a production enviroment. Seeing that almost all synths are piano keyboard controlled. 2- Learn the basics about sound like its properties, what affects sound, acoustics, and methods of mastering that can optimize your later producitons. 3- Buy good equipment. You need a FAST computer, trust me. Get ether an Athalon or an Apple G5. Without this power your screwed. Get some softsynths "Native Instruments is good." and make sure you have monitors, midi controllers "knobs, faders, ect" and a midi keyboard. Also get a mIDI interface and audio interface. I recomend you get a hardware synth and drum machine to do improvosation. 4- Experiment! Don't fear what the reaction of the crowd will be when your pumping those phat beats. Music is self expression and should never be about anyone else but YOU! 5- Learn the production basics. Buy some books on production and ask questiond.
