deepfunk Posted April 23 Report Share Posted April 23 when is the weather not warm in vegas?it gets cold in the winter. i love it when it's really cooking out there. i wouldn't want to live in that weather, but it's great to just pass out poolside for a few hours with a nice tropical drink in hand during the day. then when you are out at night it's like 80 degrees. weyes Posted April 26 Author Report Share Posted April 26 vegas was interesting, and very different from my last trip. i didn't win squat, but i went to the aquarium at mandalay bay, which was a nice change of pace. my roommate won, as long as i was with him, but he lost when we parted, so he ended up losing. that made me sad (and kinda mad, too), as he won buttloads o' moolah when i was around.someone from college (not even my year) recognized me and said hello, but i had no idea who he was ; that made me feel like a first-class asshole. the only people from my school who i seem to run into are guys i don't remember but who even remember details about me . my reunion (it's of every class that ever went to my school - 35 years) is sounding more scary and less fun...i was carded twice - and when i ordered juice!!! that was seriously exciting . i don't drink anyway, but i learned that i can order fancy virgin daiquiris and whatnot for free (even if the bartenders give me dirty looks). i understand that they want me to get schnockered and careless, but, no dice! [ha, ha, get it? dice?ooo - that was bad...]i found both matzo ball soup and a black and white cookie, in a small nod to passover. they were actually really good, too. walking around through all the casinos was very interesting. they really do all have very different vibes. of the ones through which we walked, i liked the mgm grand the best.the drive home was MUCH longer than the way there, which sucked, and it made being home all that more real. but, just like in vegas, everything has its upside and its downside.
