edge420
OK, I feel like a hypocrite posting this b/c I haven't picked up a book in almost a year and a half, but when I did read:The classics are always good - "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas and "The Bridge of San Luis Rey", by Thornton Wilder are two of my favs.Best fantasy book ever, "The Sword of Shanara" by Terry Brooks.New Age: "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield."Philosophy: St. Augustine's "Confessions" was excellent, and of course, anything by Plato.Misskittie.... Ayn Rand? That's a bit harsh, no? I liked a lot of what I read by her, but....what's wrong with compassion?I'm glad to see that we're all so well-rounded and diverse. Kudos!------------------
melichacha
This is scattered from younger days till now..."Are You There God, it's Me Margaret" by Judy BlumeANY of the Ramona or Fudge books..."Le Petit Prince" (sooo much better in French than english)"The Three Musketeers" by Alexandre DumasJust about any Poe poetry or short story...Most William S. BurroughsAnything by Salinger, esp. "Catcher in the Rye" (I've read EVERYTHING he's written )"The Wild Girls Club" by Anka Rakadovich (she used to do a great column for which I would buy Details Magazine... you can imagine the strange looks I'd get..)"Les Liasons Dangeruses" by Choderlos DeLaclos"Equus" <-- this is the most amazing play.. the characterizations are excellent I guess that's a start... I'll force myself to stop now or I may be typing all day... damn English majors... - Meli - ------------------ "MeliChaCha -- Saving the world before bedtime... wait...
