What's the ettiquitte for tipping the vip host for bottle service? how much? when (ie. any pre-tip?) ? TIA

Prolly wanna give 200.00 tip per bottle, and tip when you pay for the bottle

Keep in mind when tipping a host, the only thing they really do for you is seat you. Tip them yes....but $10-$50 is usually sufficient depending on the size of your party. You want to save the real tips for your waitress because we are the ones doing all the work. We make sure you get your bottles as fast as possible as well as your mixers and anything else you request for the entire night. We take care of our bottle customers first and make sure they are content in every way possible. And although gratutity is already added to your bill when we present it to you.....any additional tips are greatly appreciated.

I guess thats a LV things cause back home the hostess doesn't get a tip. All they do is show you to a booth, and to be honest doesn't take any effort. Some people have said to tip a hostess $25/person that is seated which seems odd to me.

I agree that its more important to leave a good tip for your waitress seeing how they are the ones doing all the work, and ensuring that you are having a good night.

The waitress does .... what a waitress does.

A good viphost (an independent), however, arranges the entire night. They will for a client sometimes spend upwards of several days in advance arranging details of the reservation,

1. negotiating down the required bottle number to save you money.

2. consulting and negoting re: the best location of the table per the client's desires for the night

3. negotiating re: a comp bottle if possible

4. negotatiing re: best total fee they can for a client

5. negotiating re: the time of the arrival for the client (clients sometimes want later, venues want earlier)

6. arranging the timing of their arrival from a previous venue/concert etc and depature for another venue or afterhours spot.

7. can even be involved with the transportation of the party to and from the venue(s)

... among many other tasks.

There is no need to tip your host. You can if you want.

Yes but most hosts who work at the actual club only walk you to your table and try to hustle a table fee which they keep. Never tip that host. Put it this way, if you pay $100 table fee you just tipped your host 100 for acting like your friend for 2 minutes. Save it for your waitress who does the actual work.
