obby
If you stay in the Capital of San Jose then make sure to check out "Club Vertigo". It is a very nice place with an extremely good sound system. Their bottle services is cheap and exceptionally friendly. This is THE BEST club in San Jose in my opinions. While you are in San Jose I would also recommend to check out the "Marlin Bar" in the "Hotel Rey".http://www.vertigocr.com/If you like to surf then make sure to visit "Jaco Beach" which is like two hours away via car. funketeer
i do, but this will be a family trip so it won't be the main emphasisIf you go there with your family, I'd suggest to stay at any of the the hotels down in the Guanacaste area...from there, you can travel by car to places like Jacó, Playas del Coco, Tortugero, Tamarindo, etc...Guanacaste would be located near the border with Nicaragua (Golfo de Nicoya) leaving you with a strategically well located starting point for venturing on day-long trips to the beaches, in case you don't want to hang out at the hotels, which offer plenty of amenities...I would do the horseback ride...bro, 3 hours of riding up the deserted sandy beaches proves to be one hell of once in a lifetime experience (that is available on the area of Guanacaste)Volcanoes: I would take a couple of days to hit the area of El Arenal and take a look at the oh-so-very active Arenal volcano...I went there 4 or so years ago and climbed beyond the "enter at your own risk" sign...I was guiding my grilfriend and her brother and sister and by the time we reached the summit (I mean, we were almost there) we could smell the sulfuric acid and smoke was coming from under our feet, later someone told us that if the volcano was to erupt fro whatever reason, we wouldn't have stood a chance to survive...hey, my kind of vacation! Have a great trip, Costa Rica is a great choice...mind ya, don't get fooled by the slow nature of the locals...they're very friendly and inviting...but don't leave your shit unattended for too long, unless of course you can doi without it...the slow front and their laid-back attitude is just that...a front.pura vida majeFunk!~
